Brass Section required for The Kop!

Recommended Posts

We need a brass section in the Kop, is there anyone our there who can play trumpets, saxophones, trombones, tin-whistle, drums, anything!? A good band will make the stand shake and shiver! We need a Brass section in the Kop for classic songs as football by Tom Hark, Ring of fire, it's not unusual by Tom Jones, Pigbag, Fiesta by The Pogues, Can-Can and The conga and so on. It would be a great idea and would get the whole crowd going and we could be the loudest in Europe (if not the world!) We would make the mexicans look like a bunch of girls. COME ON!

haha I think Sheffield Wednesday used to have 1 at Hillsborough but they had to stop because the noise was causing dangerous vibrations in 1 of the stands or something like that. I think it was Sheffield Wednesday anyway but it might have been Bradford

Been done(Sheff Wed Fans, one who do England games) before although it's a good time sometimes fans only feel they can sing when the band sings like at some England games.

Worth giving it a go tho. :)

what a fantastic idea! It would be the perfect compliment to the clowns on the pitch (how about moving stadiums to a big top?) :D

I don't like them. We were right next to the one at Lincoln last Saturday and it was just really ****ing irritating to be honest.

Sorry.

:giggle:

I quite enjoyed it tbh, nice little setup. I'm fairly certain the trumpets were plastic though.

What a shockingly idea. A band is embarrassing for England and was so for Sheff Wed. The reason Wednesday got rid of them was because they and the idea was cr*p.

It might have been a crap idea for Sheffield Wednesday but we want musician, not the muppet band. If it's irritating to fans the surely the singing and the ranting and swearing you get in The Kop now must be irritating just as much! That's why we have a main stand and family stand for the politically correct and who do not like good old banter. Bring back Pen 2 and the Spartacus days!

The problem with this new ground is that there is no atmosphere and everyone is a f**king do-gooder and is politically correct. You can't smoke, you have to throw your cups and trash in the bins provided, you have to walk out of the ground 2x2 like sheep, no standing, no swearing, CCTV everywhere, stewards, you are not allowed to voice any opinions against the management, the players or the board. Let's make a stand and have an opinion and have a laugh doing it! Working hard all week, taxed to death, can't drink, can't smoke, can't do anything, can't even now voice an opinion at my hometown club! I love Leicester and I'm proud of Leicester and my club! All I want is to bring the people together and show my kids that they don't have to be sheep and follow the rest of the crowds. They are the only City supporters at their schools! All the rest - as you all know support Liverpool, Man U, etc, etc. And I want them to be proud of their home and not glory-hunting T*ssers! Come on you Blues! Let's start a band and sing your hearts out for the lads and those that find it irritating go to the main stand and read your Guardian and Observer by the tunnel!

I agree. If it irritates the people that much, your right, they should go sit in the family stand or whatever, thats what its there for! We coould hopefully get a real good atmospeare in the KOP if more people sing. Its only like the back few rows that sing. We should get most of the rows to sing, otherwise theres nothing!

Fck the band, thats a shite idea.

Get yourself up to the back of F1 in the "kop" or L1 and have a sing, we don't need a band. Its a good laugh up there, I must admit I actually enjoyed it.

The Pens at Filbo certiainly didn't need a band!!!

In my language, a 'brass' is a lady of ill-repute. Having a section for them in the Kop would certainly spice it up a bit. I am in favour.

What do you think me, Alex and Knighton Matt were doing on the back row of F1 all season with Holly, eh?

The club failed us with N Block, it's failing us with the giant flag and it certainly failed us with the sponsored spitroast. Wankers.

I don't disagree with most of that geez but to be honest I associate a brass band with the kind of modern, sterile atmosphere you're on about. You talk about the good old days of the kop but I'm pretty sure anyone playing a trumpet there would have got it wrapped around their head.

We've sat in F1 from day 1, **** N Block, they should be sitting down with us and singing and jumping and standing, this is just a policy by the club and police to divide and conquer. We should all re-group and all sit in The Kop and then work our way round, non-singers and the people who sit there during the game reading their observer and their Times and their Guardian move to the main stand with the 'hippies and do-gooders'. And give us back our Fortress Filbert Street atmosphere! The mexican wave always dies in the Main Stand, is that not showing us that they are thinking of us as sub-prime neandertols because we voice an opinion? I know this might not be the best idea of 'a band' but I believe it could raise the spirits and get people singing with one voice and rocking the stands in their foundations and therefore lifting the team and giving them 100% backing! And in return maybe they might give us some fight on the pitch and be proud of LEICESTER CITY!

Yes we would have had it wrapped round our head but we were a family that all stuck together through thick and thin, shouting, singing until the end of the game - win or lose! To be surrounded by police front and back and down the sides looking for the man with the whistle who used to stop the opposition by blowing it in the middle of an attack and confusing them with the Refs whistle and the cops could never catch him! To say that we laughed is understatement. We don't even do the ambulance siren anymore when the stretcher goes on! Na na na na na na na! I know it's not funny but it is when the whole Pen used to sing it.
