Chairman of the Bored Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 No one apart from me has mentioned this guy. I should like to submit reasons as to why he would be perfect for LCFC at this moment in time: 1. Excellent experience at Division 1 & 2 levels. 2. Did wonders at Bournemouth with no money. 3. Tactically astute. 4. His teams play football on the ground (the way it should be played). 5. Praises his players in public (berates them in private). 6. Is a good man manger. 7. Not afraid to blood youth. 8. Has done a good job with Donny (POF tomorrow). 9. Quiet and unassuming (we won't be reading bollocks in the press all the time). 10. A genuinely nice bloke. So Mandy, please give Mr Ryan a call at Donny and make an approach.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 24 May 2008 Author Posted 24 May 2008 SOD in or SOD off SOD in, without a shadow of a doubt. The joke's a very old one by the way.
mat_j101 Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 I like what he has done at Doncaster. I watched both their play-off semi's and they looked like a very well organised, good outfit. So my opinion is based on pretty much that alone, but id have no problem with him.

Nick_The_Tyke Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 I doubt he'd come if Doncaster get promoted - he'd either stay for a crack at the Championship or get plucked by another Championship club. Still, I'm really hoping that doesn't happen. My order of preference for the League 1 play offs was (and still is) Carlisle > Southend > Dirty Leeds > Nuclear War > Donkey Rovers I hear Andy Ritchie's looking for a job though. Got us out of that league...

Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 May 2008 Posted 24 May 2008 I'm persuaded. As for staying with Donny if they get promoted, it would take a man of great integrity (for which I would doff my cap to him) to stay and have a crack at reaching the Premiership with Doncaster, over taking up a job at a club that at the very least should be a Prem/Champ yo-yo club (which has pretty much been our role for over 100 years)
Chairman of the Bored Posted 24 May 2008 Author Posted 24 May 2008 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...st&p=994132 Ok ok ok.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 24 May 2008 Author Posted 24 May 2008 Sean has a well know refrain in training "on me shed, mate."
davieG Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 We'll I think we can cross him off the list of potential managers
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 We'll I think we can cross him off the list of potential managers As an aside, well done to Donny Rovers.
Thracian Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 We'll I think we can cross him off the list of potential managers Absolutely but I enjoyed what he stood for. If ever proof were offered that you should play yourself out of a division O'Driscoll demonstrated the point. Their football first 20 minutes was a pleasure to watch and even when Leeds started to get increasing amounts of pressure they looked a bit pedestrian and predictable. McAllister clearly had a death wish in not using Sheehan. You get nothing for picking teams on sentiment and McAllister got what he deserved. Okay, Sheehan was daft getting suspended and his replacement helped Leeds through to the final. But what about the seven successive clean sheets Sheehan contributed to and the winning goal in a vital match? You need a goal to win finals the same as any other match and how McAllister imagined Sheehan's replacement was more likely to contribute to that I don't know. His two shots showed the technique of a schoolkid and his general contribution was competent rather than inspired. Ironic really. Hollooway ditches Shehan for Clapham and we go into freefall. McAllister loses faith in the guy - or punishes him - and will regret it all his life. Ah well. Serves em both right. I'd pick talent ahead of functional football any time but well done Doncaster. At least your promotion will make our task a little easier next season.

Sheehans a left back not a forward, i thought leeds left back today had a decent game, we should sign douglas, and O'Driscal wont come now

Chairman of the Bored Posted 25 May 2008 Author Posted 25 May 2008 SOD takes Donny up with a good passing team, tactical nous and the use of some excellent subsititutions. He did the same with Bournemouth taking them out of Division 3 with a thumping 5-2 defeat of Lincoln in Cardiff. In praise of Sean O'Driscoll - I rest my case. But 14k at The Keepmoat versus 32k at The Walkers? Still time to get in there Mandy.
Leicester's 12th Man Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 Hopefully SOD see's what Ollie did. Premiership ground, premiership fans, premiership wages and decides to jump ship. Then hopefully he can turn us back into a Premiership Club
