It's a wise decision to quit, good luck with it.

You need to do something to take your mind off smoking, try to relax a little.

Drink Diet coke!!!!Trust me, when I quit I substituted the fags for diet coke and though it was a distant 2nd it was the next best thing.

Playing Poker isn't helping at the moment lol Although I have a more agressive side to my game than I normally would have :)

It's all about doing something else instead of smoking. If you're a coffee drinker, I predict you will start drinking a whole lot more :P Seriously though, just keep yourself busy with other things, and chewing heads off jelly babies isn't the worst thing you could do. Sex is supposedly another good way of keeping yourself busy...

The easiest thing - Just don't start!

But he has and probally done for a while, so your advice is pretty pointless. Would have been great advice before he smoked though.

It's good advice for people who don't smoke though.

This country is too anti smoking now and its getting really pathetic. South Park was pretty frank about anti smokers.

Please state valid reasons.

Because he could save a bucket-load of money by not buying cigarettes all the time. It's bad for his own and his entourage's health. The non-smokers will be constantly snapping at his heels, and thus places he can smoke will become more and more restricted. By my own girlfriends' account, giving up smoking has a lot of beneficial effects on your body: You can start to smell things again, which greatly helps your appetite; you cough a lot less; you feel a lot less stressed once you get over the initial cravings. You avoid getitng a yellowish coat of filth on your ceiling.

It's bloody hard to stop, and I would advise that he gets as much support as he can from his mrs if he lacks the motivation...

"I'm aware that every cigarette I smoke takes five minutes off my life... but I'm also aware that it takes me about ten minutes to smoke it. That's a clear five minute net gain, if you ask me!"
