Bert Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 Never really used to like these, but for one obvious reason, and the exciting players that they have I've began to gain a soft spot for them. Even more so now after finding out this - Link Aston Villa have announced a shirt partnership with West Midlands-based charity Acorns Children's Hospice. The deal will see the charity's logo being carried on the club's shirts for free throughout the 2008/9 season. The Premier League's chief executive Richard Scudamore said the deal was the first of its kind in the top flight. "Credit must go to Villa for being the first Premier League club to use its shirt sponsor to highlight and promote its charity partnership," he said.
Koke Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 I love Aston Villa, and will always do. On a sidenote, I think Barca do something similar too with their sponsors.

C-man Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 Unicef. It was their first ever sponsor aswell. Well done to Villa, I've never hated them since they beat Cov and relegated them.
AmericanScott Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 Well played Villa. stick a big middle finger at the Premier League's money makers and say "yeah guys, we're doing this for FREE!"
Uncle Albert Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 They can afford not to have a sponser for a season with the £18 Million they will be pulling in for Barry. But still nice of them.
Flynny Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 If Stearman and Mattock go there too I might just have to semi-actively support them. Nice club.
Tilley Posted 3 June 2008 Posted 3 June 2008 Nice to see football clubs can do something without the involvment of money. Well done Villa.
Raj Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 TOSSERS. I mean...well Done Villa! Not ALL about the monies is it?
Jonezy Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 Nice one by Villa, following in the footsteps of Barca. One of the more symphatic (spelling) sides in the Prem, mostly to do with MON rebuilding them nicely and now this.
Benjani Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 The team with most English players aswell in the prem. I have always had a soft spot for them. Well that's a lie, I used to hate them before MON was there. Good side Nigel Reo-Coker dododooooo!!
lildave3 Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 Good stuff!Tbh MON has completely changed them. I think Randy Lerner deserves a fair bit of credit.
Mikey Posted 4 June 2008 Posted 4 June 2008 I think Randy Lerner deserves a fair bit of credit. Yeah. But I was more referring generally to the team when I said that.
