Championship club Coventry have revealed their financial problems are continuing with the club losing between 70,000 and 80,000 a week.

The Sky Blues, Who were taken over by Ray Ranson and SISU in January, are forecasting that they 4 Million pounds in the current financial year.

In the year ending May 2007 the club's debts reached 29 Million pounds and that amount rose to 38 Million pounds in December last year.

Those debts were either paid off or written off at the time of the takeover, but the club still losing money due to the wage bill and a lack of revenue generated at the Ricoh Arena.

'These accounts show what a financial mess the club was in,' Ranson explained Wednesday afternoon.

'Hopefully the fans appreciate the work we are doing to put things back on a financially secure basis, but we are still forecasting to lose several millions pounds next year.'

They should never have moved. Highfield Road was perfectly okay.

Agreed, they tried to copy us but realised after a while they could hardly half fill it.

When i went to Highfield Road there didn't seem an awful lot with it, it wasn't that old fashioned.

Held 24K or something. At least our stadium is in the City, Cov's is right on the outskirts near the motorway.

It will be good if they get in the premiership though. Which I highly doubt for a while at least.

If I am right then big problem Cov have is that they are only tenants at the Ricoh and that they only rent it from the council where as we can raise money from all the non football activities from the restaurants, conference facilities etc. I am sure if we were to lose that revenue we would be f**ked so it must be very difficult for Cov to raise additional money.

Yeah, they rent it from the council I believe.

Such a shame ay.

Thats what you get for moving to a big stadium & not being able to fill it >_<

Actually, we'll still have bigger attendances than them next season

That big white wall that says "Ricoh" on it inside the ground just kills the atmosphere.

The crowd size is just about right.

Last season when we played them I'm sure the ground wasn't even half full :dunno:

Chances are we might just get bigger attendences than them this season :giggle:

If our club is to be believed when they say we have sold over the 10,000 mark on Season Tickets we have beat there attendances already, purely on ST sales surely?!

Also, i'd like to add that the Ricoh arena is a nice stadium.

They have that big TV screen in the corner of the away section and the equivelent of our L1 section which looks cool.

But then you look at the wall...

No it's not.

I heard that was how much leicester were loosing per game. One facor was apparently the amount of stewards which were employed with the intention of the ground being full as we would be top half but that obviously wernt the case.

Say what you like about the Walkers, but I love the fact we have that banner going round with all the legends on.

Awful support. Plus they have this hilarious joke on 606- The topic is "Who do you want first game?", then about ten people replied "Leicester, oh sorry they're relegated". Think of a new bloody joke, and get over your obsession with our club.
