StroudFox Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 How did he fail at Boro? Ok, I take it back, my memory failed me! However, his useless management of England is enough to put me off him!
Simi Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Ok, I take it back, my memory failed me!However, his useless management of England is enough to put me off him! As hopefully we will find with Scolari, International management is not a reflection on club management.
Father Ted Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I just cannot see McClaren wanting to come here, nor Mandaric wanting McClaren, a failed manager at Midlesbrough and England. I agree that he failed at England, but he got Middlesborough to the UEFA cup final and their first piece of silverware in god know's how many years after winning the Carling Cup. And he did say that he would take a Championship job a couple of months ago. He might just want to get back into a job quick.

We are not Championship Club!! As hopefully we will find with Scolari, International management is not a reflection on club management. I hope he does well!!
Uncle Monty Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 If McClaren gets the job then i think 'im guna renounce citeh
Father Ted Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 i already said I was wrong!!! How many times do I have to say it!! We are not Championship Club!! Ok, sorry, just noticed what you said earlier
StroudFox Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Ok, sorry, just noticed what you said earlier no probs!!
Fox You Forest Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 All these exclamation marks are making me dizzy. Its alright to keep saying its a big step from Premiership to International football, Isn't it also a big step from Premiership to League One? He failed the first time he made a big step he may fail again. I dont think it will be him though.
smokey Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Steve Maclaren did ok at boro but do people not realise he spent well over 50 million in his time there, anyone would do ok with that sort of money to spend!
Babylon Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Steve Maclaren did ok at boro but do people not realise he spent well over 50 million in his time there, anyone would do ok with that sort of money to spend! Peter Taylor £22m
Raj Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 fcuk Steve McClaren. They can have my ST back if he is our manager. I want Jean Tigana,Avram Grant or the fat Portuguese bloke. Or Maradona
TrickyTrev Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 His Record:Middlesbrough Games:250 Won:97 Lost:93 Drew:60 Win %:38.80 England Games:18 Won:9 Lost:5 Drew:4 Win %:50.00 It isn't to good but neither are our players get him in!! There is nothing more meaningless than these statistics that everyone digs up every time we get linked with a manager. 50% is a relatively good record, yet we all know in that reign he lost every important match he played in. I'd be happy with Mclaren if not particuarly excited. I'm dubious of his judgement of player and am certain he has zero tactical nouse. However, I am sure he will bring a new level of professionalism to this train wreck of a club.
leeleic Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Ooooh how exciting........ another new manager! I'm not sure who i want. All i care about is some-one that gives a **** about the club. Sayin that, Hollohead seemed to care, and i think he did. Oh i just don't know!!! I just hope who-ever it is gives us lot something to smile about after all these years.

Guest Bilo Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 I just cannot see McClaren wanting to come here, nor Mandaric wanting McClaren, a failed manager at Midlesbrough and England. Hardly failed at Boro. They won their FIRST EVER cup under him and got to the UEFA Cup final in successive seasons.
lildave3 Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Hardly failed at Boro. They won their FIRST EVER cup under him and got to the UEFA Cup final in successive seasons. A. She's admitted he was wrong. Twice. B. They only got to the UEFA cup final once.
Fox You Forest Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 Hardly failed at Boro. They won their FIRST EVER cup under him and got to the UEFA Cup final in successive seasons. Sorry three times for one quote in the same day bet she loves that.
Guest Bilo Posted 15 June 2008 Posted 15 June 2008 A. He's admitted he was wrong. Twice.B. They only got to the UEFA cup final once. I know, I meant they won their first trophy in the first year and reached the UEFA Cup final in the second. That's what I meant by successive seasons, although I wrote it badly. It's all academic though, he ain't coming here.
