Thracian Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 I have plenty of time for you - I enjoy and have an open mind on all rumours, stories, hearsay etc no matter who posted them.I've never believed the Mockery since Laurie Simpkin left. Be an interesting debate that...which football standards have fallen furthest since those halcyon days of the 60s, Leicester City's or The Mercury's. Top man Laurie Simpkin, God Rest His Soul. Not only my boss but enthusiastic supporter and chairman of the Mercury football team when we had current frontline broadcasters Tony Francis and Tim Ewart in the forward line. http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/story.asp?st...p;sectioncode=1

Jay Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 what have gregorys past transfer dealings been like? dodgy just like him
skinnydipper Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 Not many want Gregory so what he needs is an artificial sweetener to appease the fans Enter Steve "Canderel" Walsh
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 So anyone got any idea's when i can begin being officially disapointed as opposed to suspecting to be disapointed?
Fatbloke Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 You can be dissapointed who ever we appoint mate, whilst the serb remains, it matters not one jot who gets the job success will be very hard to come by I`m affraid.

demon_dog Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 Reading some of the posts it seems that some of you are easily bribed. First we see NO to Gregory being appointed, but then when Walshie is mentioned as a number 2, it's YES let them have the job. Bloody fickle lot. I agree with Thracian, if Walshie was that keen a should have taken his coaching badges, worked behind the scenes at a club to learn the ropes, just as Taggs and Matt Elliott are doing. So for me it's no to a dream nightmare team of JG and SW, I will not be bribed. Get Newell in now.

Exactly. Last thing we need if some lazy get who just wants a paycheck... As a player, legend. Turning that into even the most basic of motivation of the pitch takes practise and training, neither of which he has any evidence of having made the effort to get.
daveyboy Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 Get Newell in now. The best choice in my opinion too, but very very unlikely sadly.

Did Walshies Golf thingy he was involved in go up the Swanee? I thought someone said it had.
maddog Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 If Walsh will be number 2 get Gregory in. Great move by Gregory's agent to make this public. the 80% of fans who didn't want Gregory before, a lot more of them will want him now.

renards Posted 19 June 2008 Posted 19 June 2008 Did Walshies Golf thingy he was involved in go up the Swanee?I thought someone said it had. think so. top wage at leicester was around 5k missed the big money. money went missing during his testimonial year ripped off basically not a lot to show for his years in the game (fact) drove past the ground on match day in a bit of a jalopy. fans singing all the walsh songs + putting their heads through is window (car had stopped!) fans then started saying what a shit car..loud, and singing wheres the money gone..sad

No because it's still Gregory. If my middle finger applied with Walsh as my assistant you wouldn't all back it.
