Finally accomplished something that Jerzy Janowicz didn’t.

Took him long enough.

How is Jerzy doing these days? lol

Probably injured again.

But if injuries hadn’t wrecked his career, we both know he would have been a Grand Slam Champion by now 👍🏻

I expected Danny Evans to fall to Rafa in R3, not Cam Norrie in R1 lol

It’s alright winning an ATP 250 event, but I don’t see him making Grand Slam Semi Finals, like Foxestalk favourite Jerzy Janowicz ;)

Any mug can swing a racquet and make a semi final, even Edmund did that lol

Just watched the last couple of sets of the Thiem/Krygios match. I don't see much Tennis these days but thought Thiem was really impressive, how he handled the chaos Krygios brings and with the crowd against him.

Also noticed they appear to have done away with line judges? Assume it might be covid related unless i've missed something in recent years, but interesting development as it didn't seem to make much difference. The umpire have control or is there some sort of line technology telling him when its out?

Medvedev is one hell of a player.

Yep, he’s had a decent amount of recovery time now but with Djokovic perhaps carrying a bit of a knock I think there’s a genuine chance he’s going to win on Sunday

Hope so, he has a style of his own. It appears that the Top 4 are now pulling away again.

Just looking at the ranking points purely.

Ah yeah think Covid has had a lot to do with that, Will have given anyone who was at the tour finals a huge boost.

For the sake of Men’s tennis, Medvedev winning on Sunday is much needed.

He ran Rafa close at the US Open, Thiem ran Djokovic close at last year’s Australian Open; however the next generation still haven’t been able to get a major win against the big three.

Thiem winning at last year’s US Open was a tainted victory.

Hopefully Medvedev starts to stamp his authority, starting with Sunday.

What’s funny?

Considering Djokovic got disqualified and Nadal & Federer didn’t play, Thiem’s victory was clearly tainted :dunno:

That’s Sport.

No such thing as a tainted Grand Slam win, you still have to get through a field of 128 of the best professional tennis players in the world, if you win one you hold your head up high and don’t worry about how it happened.

Are we going to call Nole’s win on Sunday tainted because Federer hasn’t played and Nadal bombed out against Tsisisisisipass?

Thiem winning a Grand Slam without playing one of the big three, isn’t all that impressive is it, as they’ve dominated Slams for four bloody years, therefore tainted victory :D
