Daggers Posted 21 September 2008 Author Posted 21 September 2008 ....they would be slightly up if anything on ... Food and Drink sales Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear. Really, if you are going to slag off people for not reading and remembering post in the thousands of threads on here then the very least you ought to be able to do is not look a total arse in your consecutive post. Food and drinks are a franchise. As we all know - the club gets nothing for increased matchday sales of booze and grub. Tch!
davieG Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 Really? Because i've seen it explained a few times on here, Not by me, Correct, but other people have done it before I even posted on the thread so why say it again?Anyway I will explain (Although other people have already explained on this thread a few minutes ago), There is a rule, which states the two clubs must agree a ticket price (Which I believe profits are halved and shared between the two clubs) therefore the club couldn't give away free tickets. I suppose the club could agree the price with the other club and then just pay for the ST holders tickets then give the money to the other club, but that would put Leicester out of pocket, as a business why would they do that? Giving away free tickets for a league match would be different, They give nothing to the opposition (I don't think) therefore wouldn't be out of pocket, they would be slightly up if anything on possibly Merchandise sales, Food and Drink sales, e.t.c. That how I believed it worked except they wouldn't benefit from increased sales of Food & Drink which has also been mentioned many times. Unless it was in the 1884 bar
Matt Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 That how I believed it worked except they wouldn't benefit from increased sales of Food & Drink which has also been mentioned many times. Unless it was in the 1884 bar that's what I was talking about - Whether it's the same case as what's in the concourse's I don't know. Still there going to be up on possibly Merchandise sales, Programme sales(?)

lcfc_jme Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 Because they are a football club. Not a business! Shut it you liar. They're a business; a brand; a franchise of sorts. Why ever would you consider any team playing soccer to be a football club?
Guest Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 There are a number of reasons why STH's do not get a free cup game any more. The main reason was that the cup game was actually part of the season ticket price, and that it would apply to the first home cup game. Depsite this, many STH's would still not want to go to the game, as most of the time we would be at home in the early rounds of a cup to less glamourous opposition. If we managed to get to the later rounds, these fans would then complain that they had not been given the chance to choose which cup game they went to. The last time a cup game was included in the ST was when we played Crewe at home, and the club made a loss on STHs not turning up. There was also the situation at Filbo where one year we had three cup games included, because we had been unlucky in getting knocked out away from home!!

I thought around 27,000 turned up for that match
Guest Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 I thought around 27,000 turned up for that match I think there was a game where 15/16k odd turned up, first season at the WS. It's the one that is mentioned when the whole "why don't we get cup tickets"? argument rears its ugly head.
Munzie Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 I'm just about to start my correspondence to Peter Jones about the lack of information/benefits. Is everyone doing the same?
Daggers Posted 22 September 2008 Author Posted 22 September 2008 that's what I was talking about - Whether it's the same case as what's in the concourse's I don't know. Absolute bollocks - that isn't what you meant at all. And even if it was then how the hell an overpacked 1884 bar could possibly make any more money than it already does is beyond me seeing as they can not physically fit any more people in.

How much is a pint in the 1884 bar roughly? I've never been in.
Daggers Posted 22 September 2008 Author Posted 22 September 2008 How much is a pint in the 1884 bar roughly? I've never been in. Been once. Never again.
Fox You Forest Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 Been once. Never again. The Stella is one of the worst pints i have ever tasted.
andyh1884 Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 How much is a pint in the 1884 bar roughly? I've never been in. Over £3 for a pint of Pedigree, think it was £3.50 but the shock has erased the exact figure from my memory.
Sparky Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 How much is a pint in the 1884 bar roughly? I've never been in. Used to be around the £2.80 mark , not over the top . Dont go in anymore before the game , far too busy . Go in every now and again after , get some of the ex players in post match
Legend_in_blue Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 Over £3 for a pint of Pedigree, think it was £3.50 but the shock has erased the exact figure from my memory. I was expecting some ridiculous figure. Gone are the days of a pint costing either £1 down Loughborough Students Union, or £1.60 down the local! Maybe they should introduce drinks vouchers as part of the monthly benefits for season ticket holders! Matt, what do you think?
Daggers Posted 23 September 2008 Author Posted 23 September 2008 Anyone else written and got some kind of reply yet? I think I've been put on Peter's ignore list!
Daggers Posted 6 October 2008 Author Posted 6 October 2008 "Sorry, Mr. Hoos is in a meeting at the moment - he'll get back to you in the next ten minutes". That was just over an hour ago. I know things come up and meetings over-run...but the inability of anyone from the club to deliver a little bit of honesty and an apology for this is crap - really crap.

Ring up the Phone-In to complain Oh sorry I forgot, you're not going to slag off Howard, so you won't get on.

Munzie Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 I too am being ignored. Countless e-mails and half a dozen phone calls = nothing. I understand the subject was mentioned on the phone-in last night. As I missed it, did anything get resolved? Also, I believe that some of the FT members attend regular meetings with the club. Has this been raised in the past? If not, can we get the topic on a future agenda. Doesn't seem right that the club employ a 'Supporter Relations Manager' who cannot manage supporter relations!!

I wrote to the Moan-in to say that it seems ridiculous that no one from the club has said anything about this, that Hoos hasn't returned my call as promised, that Jones doesn't respond to my polite emails and that I feel as though now the club has our cash they couldn't give a stuff about us until next May. Daggers (the one with the annoying voice not stud-muffin-me) exclaimed that he was sure the final bit wasn't the case. He might be sure but I'm absolutely convinced he's wrong. I've now written to the Merc and another short but polite email to Jones. If there's no response to this then it will have to be stepped up to the national consumer bodies and to see if anyone in the national media fancies taking a pop at them on our behalf. As I said, it was always more likely that I got permission to buy my bike than you were to get a positive reply Raj and Lisa are the two people off here who may be able to raise the issue at the FCC

We are actively pushing for answers this week
