Jordan to quit Palace next year

Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has revealed he intends to sell the Championship club.

Jordan, who bought Palace out of administration in 2000, says he has grown disillusioned with the game.

The Palace chairman decided to quit after a Football League tribunal awarded the club just £700,000 following John Bostock's move to Spurs.

"Without a shadow of a doubt, this is my last year. I've taken the club as far as I can," Jordan said.

"It's my specific intention to find a buyer this season. I will do nothing to affect manager Neil Warnock and I will be absolutely committed to the club and I will find a responsible buyer.

"I am not de-motivated by the team, manager or fans. But I have been disillusioned with football for a long time.

"I kept my sanity by pumping millions of pounds into my academy, feeling the saving grace of my club was finding players who would be chomping at the bit and honoured to play in the first team but that's been taken away from me as well.

"Bostock was one of the best players my academy has produced in the last 10 years and he has been sold for a packet of crisps."

A lot of what he says on many aspects of the game is good - if he could just find a way of saying it so that people didn't feel he was an arse.

I agree. Although I happily forgive him for being an arse as he is one of few Chairmen who consistently speaks sense. Refreshing and, if he does sell up, a personality that will be missed.

I must be the only twat who likes the heavily sun tanned twat!!!

He DOES speak alot of sense and football needs refreshing voices like him instaed of old faggots whom actually control football(And mostly know fcuk all about it!)

I can understand why people think he's a twat....but he is a sort of likeable twat.....like me really!!! :)

Hated Simon Jordan. What an orange tw*t!

Although do think that they have been treated unfairly in the Bostock deal. It just seems like the big teams can do what they want and just get away with it. Don't think that Bostock will be that good anyway and he should have stayed at Palace because he won't get a game at Spurs.

Agreed, and as for the Bostock deal, I don't really think people on here are qualified to start saying Palace got a raw deal because I doubt many have seen him in action. Only time will tell if Spurs got a bargain.

Great interview with him in the NOTW today.

On Ronaldo "I'm sorry little boy, you signed a 5 year contract. Sulk and pout as long as you want but you will do as your told."
