Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Dog Meat To Be Removed From Menus For Chinese Oylmpics Actually a little bit of an old story, but surely I can't be the only one a little upset by this. You go to Rome, you want pizza and pasta; you go to Paris, you want snails and horse steak; likewise, you go to Beijing and you want dog - it's that simple. Just think... no Cocker Leekie Spaniel no Yorkshire Terrier Pudding no German Shepherd Pie no Jack Brussels and if you have ice cream, you won't be allowed to have Instant Whippet on it! I for one am OUTRAGED!

MC Prussian Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 Well if I had a whale as a pet I might feel differently about it....... but I don't What now - do you have a pet whale or do you feel differently about it?
Guest Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 I don't have a pet whale, what I was saying was that I don't have any sort of emotional attachment to those animals which I haven't owned as a pet. A strange way of making a point I know, but a pet whale would be cool

Of course you have no issues with having your house being torn down, making way for a huge water-filled container and leaving your whaley at the public swimming pool during summer break.... Pet whale would be ace. Either that or a Tyrannosaurus Rex - as a more efficient guard dog replacement. Which brings us back to the thread title.
AmericanScott Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 I always laughed in New York when i saw this Chinese restaurant right next to a vet's office. Made me wonder what they actually did with Rover when he got sick

Head Honcho Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 When I lived in Korea there were these shops all over the place with pictures of dogs on the windows so naturally we thought they were dog restaurants it wasn't until several weeks later we found out they were poodle parlours
