Alexikokopops Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 The last 2 days all people have been saying is "oohhh its really hot"I'm sorry but No it isn't. In turkey the last few weeks its been over 42 degrees every day and hit 51 one day, that is hot. The weather in this country is an absolute joke in the summer it barely gets over 25 and the winter theres no blizzards, snow etc. Yes, but they have shit grass abroad.

That and having to have the window open so the dog barks every time someone walks by. Dog#3 is now available to a good home. If you are concerned about whether your home is good enough or not - don't be.

Apparently it touched 52 degrees a few hours ago.

It seemed a lot more unbearable today than in Turkey(mind you I did spend a lot of time in the pool abroad )
dandannieldanok Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Humidity is the bitch - and that's what does it here. Very true, you can tell a clear difference between the UK and a Mediterranean country even if the temperatures are exactly the same, the humidity makes the heat feel so unnatural and uncomfortable.

Blimey - and now the rain has failed to take any heat out of the air it's 100% humidity here...Birmingham is worse than the jungle in It Aint Half Hot Mum!

Guest Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 I would hate our place to let the blokes wear shorts to work. I have a delicate constitution.

lavrentis Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Allergic to the White Leg Phenomenon? Hows the weather like in la Suisse
MC Prussian Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Hows the weather like in la Suisse Same here, quite humid for most part of the day - been like that for a couple of days already. In the past few hours, it's started raining a few times, we've had lightning and hail as well. I like times like these - when temperature's coming down and a fresh breeze is going through the house. Looking forward to sleeping tonight. Don't mind the thunderbolts and the noise.

purpleronnie Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 You should come to Houston it's always hot here, only supposed to be 34°C today the thermometer at work has it as 41°C. We are allowed to wear shorts, I decline I still wear trousers and a shirt. There are some sights believe me, you know how americans are fat yeah? Well everythings bigger in texas so get your average yank and times their weight by 2 and you get what most people here look like, add terrible dress sense and it can become all very depressing. Fashion seems to have bypassed american men, apparantly they see fashion as girly and not macho. Its weird because fashion for me and my mates back home was always very important. I really have a problem going to restaurants over here and seeing 'young' men in shorts crappy t shirts and I kid you not sandles.
Austin Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Sandals are only a no-no if worn with socks. FACT. Saw some muppet up town with socks and sandals on .. just laughed at him ..

My skin burns at 23°C so to live in that heat would see me peel more times than an onion
MC Prussian Posted 28 July 2008 Posted 28 July 2008 Sandals are only a no-no if worn with socks. It's an ugly sight. I feel sorry for guys that think they're making a good impression by putting their old, dirty and dry feet into socks and THEN all of that into old, dirty and dry sandals. I already feel like cringing. Oh. Lord!
