He's just the type of nasty player that we're going to come across each week but the difference is he actually has some skill too. Pearson will be able to handle him, if he doesn't put the effort in Nigel's a big enough boy to tell him off.

Being nasty gets you nowhere in modern football. Tiatto was nasty and largely a waste of space. Too often it was touch and go whether he even stayed on the field.

He has the ability to play well at this level should he have the motivation. But I don't see that he would. He has had his time here, and he did his job well. It should be left that way.

Babylon Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 I can only imagine it would be to replace someone on the way out (Clemence). If it's Pearsons decision then i'm ok with it... if he is under any pressure from mad mandy, then I don't want him. Especially if it's anything more than a years contract.

And he always wants some limelight once the party starts though he soon goes quiet when the flak flies. I just wish he'd let the manager get on with his job. He always seems scared to death we won't have enough experience - as if "experience" has not got us in enough trouble - and I often wonder if he has any faith in the young players at all underneath. If he had he'd surely never let Gradel go to Bournemouth last season for a start. Don't get the wrong idea. I like big names too. But when they're starting out and have barely been heard of, not when when they're a largely spent force. He's 33 now, serioius knee injury made it hard to get back in Blackburn's side in his last full season there and he has scored once in his last 92 League matches, way down on his average over his previous 10 years up to 2002. In case Mandaric needs it spelling out we want people to provide us with goals and creativity in midfield.
