billyfox1 Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 the draw is tomorrow, this was just to see who won't be in it

Cheese Me Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 The following clubs will receive byes into Round Two of this season's Johnstone's Paints Trophy following the draw for the byes held at The League's office in Preston today.http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/Late...1361526,00.html Northern Section: Bury, Carlisle United, Chester City, Darlington, Huddersfield Town, Lincoln City, Rochdale and Rotherham United Southern Section: Cheltenham Town, Gillingham, Hereford United, Luton Town, Milton Keynes Dons, Peterborough United, Walsall and Wycombe Wanderers @rse. I live in Wycombe, was really hoping for an away draw. Oh well
Ashley Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 the draw is tomorrow, this was just to see who won't be in it The draw is on the 16th, Live on SoccerAm
BlabyFox Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 they just automatically go through to the next round of the competition! why is that? Do they buy the bye
Legend_in_blue Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 We may as well get as many byes as there are rounds. Either way, we'd be in the final. I guess this way it keeps the biggest team in the competition from the start - makes it more interesting to follow.
davieG Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 The byes are there because there is'nt the correct number of teams to have a continuous draw. If you work it backwards from the final you'll need that number of teams at eache point in the competition. 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 etc
act smiley Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 Bradford CityChesterfield Grimsby Hartlepool Leeds Notts County S****horpe One of these apparantly. OK. Now I'm getting confused, could have sworn I'd read we were in the Southern section.
Sods Posted 9 August 2008 Posted 9 August 2008 Oh for gods sake. The freeking draw ent till the 16th. And to top it off, Bradford, Chesterfield, Grimsby, Hartlepool, Leeds, Notts County and Scun-inappropiatename-phorpe. Shambles, where the bleeding hell is Barnet, Gillingham, Northampton, MK Mcdonalds in that list. Im writing in.
Asha Posted 9 August 2008 Posted 9 August 2008 We'll get Notts County home. Probably. So we're Northerners?
Ultra Posted 9 August 2008 Posted 9 August 2008 Yep. The league obviously didn't want us and Leeds to meet in the final..
syston_fox Posted 9 August 2008 Posted 9 August 2008 We'll get Notts County home.Probably. So we're Northerners? Notts County away and I'd be a happy boy! Been wanting to go there for a while now and never got round to it
