Chris Powell

Will no doubt end up with a coaching role by the end of the season. Very good back up in the squad though and will still be more than able to do a job in this division.

Decent enough signing, only here for a while. When Mattock is fully fit he will be gone.

Whilst Powell is playing then he will bring experience to our younger players and hopefully he can have some good games. Rather Chris Powell aswell to Jamie Clapham.

Is he eligible to play tomorrow?

How do we know it's only Sky saying it nothing on the OS yet.

Well we will have to wait, we can only comment on what we have been told and that is a short term deal.

Think outside the box.

Exactly we have been told that its just a short term deal not if he's eligible to play or anything.

Well if he was signed before 12:00pm today then he is eligible to play for us tomorrow.

Anyway good luck to the young lad hope he can have an impact on the season.

He's been watching Usain Bolt on the TV. He's lightning quick I tell you. Lightning.

I think it's a good signing.

No its true read my tread

Perhaps the OS aren't keen to admit the signing's been made!

If it's short term I just hope it's from this afternoon til tomorrow morning.

Brevett, Clapham, Powell...one day someone will explain.

Maybe it's the legal team advicing Mandy on the bungs inquiry?

See nothing wrong with this at all tbh.

There are still people saw nothing wrong with Jamie Clapham.

It seems to me that the full-back position is almost an afterthought at City.

We don't have any specialist cover at right-back either.

And it seems to me that we're leaving the left-back position vulnerable because we're preserving a place for Mattock.

If Mattock is good enough he will see off any competition but I really cannot see why we started the season without anyone competing with him for the position.

To me it's blinkered thinking. And if we're not careful it will cost us. Just as it did last season.

It's a position we constantly seem to compromise on anyway. A good full-back needs to be quick, brave, strong in the air and on the floor, quick-thinking, skillful and an accurate passer. He needs to have plenty of stamina and to be a good reader of the game.

That's a lot of qualities and we never seem to get anyone who rates more than 60% of the full pound at their best.

I wonder how many boxes Powell will tick. I'd only have rated Clapham about 4/9, Mattock around 5/9, Nils about 4/9 and even Sheehan was only around 5/9 although his dead ball skills were a significant extra.

I don't think the pace is so important as you go further down the leagues, so I don't think that'll be too much of a problem.

From what i've seen he's not a bad passer and is a very good reader of the game.

As a short term fix, I think Powell is good enough. Although we'll see more tomorrow I suppose.

EVEN Sheehan!? Controversial. Downplaying his abilities to that extent won't fly here, mister.
