Darkzzz_ Posted 30 July 2009 Author Posted 30 July 2009 Can't really comment on Turkish football as I don't watch it. I kind of hate to say it for his non reasoned hatred towards Barca , but I do like Fenerbache. I don't know why, maybe it ignited when Kazim-Kazim scored against Chelsea. Besiktas were the team I just used to stick in my master league on PES to make up the numbers and they would always come and hurt me. Bastards.
AjcW Posted 30 July 2009 Posted 30 July 2009 A Messi for life: 9.54 According to reports in Spain, Barcelona want to hand Lionel Messi a new contract, with the key difference being the figure in his release clause, which could rise from 150million euros (£128million) to 250million euros (£213million).

Not that I think he would ever leave Barca but If there was one club he would join, that would be Inter as he does have a big soft spot for them.

Theres something about him that just makes you think he wouldnt be right anywhere else. He's been brought through the barca ranks, trained to play the barca way and hasnt really played in a different system in his career as Argentina adopt a very similar style. But I have heard about his soft spot for Inter... and to be honest if he ever did go there I wouldnt mind because I too have a soft spot for Inter after watching them in the san siro a few seasons back.... Just not for a few years yet ey Lionel ..

But being at the Camp Nou is special for any fan of a well run football club with tradition.

I think ill need to go again to experience the real atmosphere because it was the first game of the season on a hot summers day and there was around 40 thousand in. But the ultras have got to be the best fans I have ever seen, was just above them, fantastic noise they create. Will have my first nou camp experience this year so I will be able to compare then. Theres something about Inter that appeals to me much more than AC though.

You will love that feeling of waking out of the tunnel and seeing the turf, where many greats have been. I must say, the tour isn't as good as it was but of course it is still worth it. Check the mini stadi out too, you will know what I mean.

I wasnt going for a tour im going for a game but maybe I can fit a tour in before hand. Hoping to sit on the computer the night the madrid tickets come for the 29th november, already have flights on standby. Ive become a member to hopefully help with getting tickets.
Budweiser Posted 30 July 2009 Posted 30 July 2009 Not that I think he would ever leave Barca but If there was one club he would join, that would be Inter as he does have a big soft spot for them. Juventus were apparently going to make a bid. Apparently they are willing to spend the cash in the next couple of years, when they move to their new stadium, which doesn't really make sense.

I do the tour every time before the game just in case something has changed, something did change when I was last there in Feb, the tour got crap. The best game I ever saw was probably Ronaldhino's finest goal, the overhead kick against Villarreal. That was a special night. You will seriously struggle with Madrid tickets, I have tried many times, it is worth getting over to the Barca forums, that is where I get the heads up on all things Barca, some very helpful people over there too. If they can find the ridiculous amount of money to prize him away then fair enough, even though he is the best player in the world, he isn't worth his release fee (not that it would ever be met).

Cheers for the heads up, will definitely have a look. Might try for another game. Just really want to go and watch them this season.

lildave3 Posted 30 July 2009 Posted 30 July 2009 Fener 1-0 up already, Roberto Carlos free kick. Then got injured celebrating 2-0 Guiza. 3-0 Guiza.

lildave3 Posted 30 July 2009 Posted 30 July 2009 Is he going to Lyon? Rumours flying about but I doubt it now. They've just bought Gomis from St. Etienne I think. Plus Guiza will now be cup tied from any European action. 4-0 now, Guiza completing his hat trick.

MC Prussian Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 BSC Young Boys from Berne beat Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames thanks to a goal from Seydou Doumbia 1-0. I like that result, since I have a soft spot for YB. Former Champions League contender FC Basle had real troubles in Iceland versus KR Reykjavik and only gained a 2-2 draw, after being 2-0 down within the first ten minutes of the game. Alex Frei, newlly-acquired from Borussia Dortmund two weeks ago, set up both goals for his hometown club.

JimmyK Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Wasn't sure if it belonged in here or not, but right at this moment in court, Cork City's future is being decided. From what I gather, they're currently appealing against a decision, and if they lose, they'll be liquidated. Been keeping an eye on it in their fans' forum. I don't really have any particular interest in them, just always sad to see a football club go. UPDATE: Whey, they've survived on appeal.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Like the looks of Dortmunds new striker. Rangelov? Should be decent, don't really think Frei will be missed all that much, most of his goals were penalties.

That'd mean 18 out of 34 for Dortmund... And as far as I recall it, he's a bloody good shooter with a neat first touch. And... also plagued by injuries...
