MC Prussian Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Lucien Favre's Hertha are no longer in competition for the Bundesliga title 2008/09. Wolfsburg, Bayern, Stuttgart will decide it on the last day of the season. My vote goes to Wolfsburg. Superior goal difference, two points ahead of Bayern and possessing a dream strike force with Grafite and Dzeko.
Ultra Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 Villarreal beat Real Madrid 3-2 last night. Barcelona are now confirmed as champions of La Liga.
Darkzzz_ Posted 17 May 2009 Author Posted 17 May 2009 Villarreal beat Real Madrid 3-2 last night.Barcelona are now confirmed as champions of La Liga. Without kicking a ball, how nice. Looking forward to the game later.
lavrentis Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 It isn't a huge affection towards them, I think it was back on transworld sport when me and my brother were young and it shown a feature on them, we just decided to adopt them as our Greek club. Nothing major like the way you follow it. Ah right.
Bakey Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 Race for 4th spot in Liga BBVA as Madrid hope to qualify for the Champions league again. At. Madrid - Valencia 2 - 1 Madrid win on the cards Coverage on SS3 at 8.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 Dortmund ( ) won 6-0 against Arminia Bielefeld Eight wins in a row now, some acheivement. Kehl (2), Hajnal ( ), Valdez, Tinga, and Zidan the scorers. If only they hadn't drawn so many games.... One or two improvements in the summer and hopefully next season they'll be looking for the Champions League again.
Joe. Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 Barca lost 2-1 to Mallorca, Eto'o missing a last minute pen as well.
Ultra Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 It was largely a reserve team. Eto'o was only playing because he wants to finish La Liga top scorer.
Samilktray Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 Forlan being amongst the top scorers in La Liga says it all for me.
Ultra Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 Being Atletico's penalty-taker may have something to do it. Shocking dive by Aguero. But refs at the Calderon, as we know, are so easily swayed by the home crowd..
MarkDeVries Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 ATLETICO, ATLETICO, ATLETICO, ATLETICO, ATLETICOOOOOOO Aguero dived for the pen in my opinion though Fully deserved 1-0 lead at half time
Darkzzz_ Posted 18 May 2009 Author Posted 18 May 2009 Eto'o needs to put a shift in on his finishing. He won't get chances like he did last night against United and when one does come his way, he needs to bury it. As for Forlan, he has improved no end since moving to La Liga, some people adapt some people don't. He was one of those that didn't adapt to the Premiership, many others have been the same. I don't think he is anything special at all but I just because he had a nightmare at United doesn't make him a bad player and fair play to him for bouncing back. I really hope La Liga shuts a lot of people up next season, I am one of the first to admit it has been way of the mark for a couple of seasons now. Nothing will ever top the Rivaldo last minute wonder goal to secure Barca a 4th place finish and CL qualification, not that was special.
shen Posted 18 May 2009 Posted 18 May 2009 Forlan being amongst the top scorers in La Liga says it all for me. Yeah, it says that he's a top player who had a torrid time at Man U. The guy has got more goals than Villa (the Euro top scorer), Messi (arguably the hottest player on the planet right now) and Henry (THE prime foreign Premiership player alongside Ronaldo this decade)... that says it all to me.
CosbehFox Posted 18 May 2009 Posted 18 May 2009 Derbyshire has settled in really well, he is being labelled as the "English Gentleman" by the Greeks. We need more English players, like him, to get on the plane abroad. Sol Campbell could be off Spain or Greece next!

MC Prussian Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 Only a few minutes away from kickoff... C'mon Wolfsburg (and Stuttgart)!!! Hopefully, Hertha BSC will kick some Karlsruhe bee-hinds. Nothing more sweeter than Gay-ern galling some green grass...
MarkDeVries Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 Wolfsburg 5-1 Bremen. Is this true? :w00t: That is how to win a league.
MC Prussian Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 Wolfsburg 5-1 Bremen. Is this true? :w00t: That is how to win a league. No kidding: http://www.iraqgoals.net/ch1.html
MarkDeVries Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 No kidding:http://www.iraqgoals.net/ch1.html Wow, thoroughly deserved. If you go into a deciding title match and win 5-1 then that is just quality
lildave3 Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 That is pretty special. Didn't they demolish Bayern at their place too? I think it was Bayern, like 6-1?
CSKA SOFIA Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 CSKA Sofia 1 : 0 Lokomotiv Sofia (5' Dormushali Saidhodzha) Slavia Sofia 0 : 1 Levski Sofia (52' Ze Soares - really stupid goal...................... ) We' re 2 points behind Levski - 2 rounds before the end of the championship.
MarkDeVries Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 That is pretty special. Didn't they demolish Bayern at their place too? I think it was Bayern, like 6-1? Yeh, it was 5-1. Ripped Bayern to shreads. Worthy champions
Koke Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 Look at the celebrations, starting from about 1:02 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoEmMx9Y47w
dandannieldanok Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 To be fair I doubt Bremen were in the right frame of mind to really play to their full potential after the UEFA cup final.
