Football Manager 2009

I am rather enjoying my game even though I am a lower league manager.

My career reads like this:

2008/09

Rushden & Diamonds - BSP- Winners- Promoted to League 2

2009/10

Rushden & Diamonds - CCL2- Third Place- Promoted to League 1

2010/11

Rushden & Diamonds - CCL1- Resigned after 8 games - Board Disagreements :)

Applied for a few jobs and failed, Was then offered the chance to save Huddersfield who were 10 points adrift at the bottom of CCL2.

I accepted the challenge and now with 3 games to go we are safe in 15th Position.

I managed to grab some players in January including Kanu, Liam Dickinson (Who I had at Diamonds, he is a great lower league striker) Gavin Hoyte and a few others from Arsenal.

I am now going to rebuild this squad and attempt a promotion push to the Championship next season....

You probably ask... Are you addicted to FM or what ?

My answer.... NO of course not !!

Is everybody just going to now sign Lewandowski and make it boring? Find your own players!

Also, is Lewandowski one of these generic FM gem players who everybody signs and becomes immense?

PROMOTION WITH SWINDON! :w00t: I could have won the title as well had Millwall not scored a 93rd minute equaliser against Brighton :(

Even better I clinched promotion with a 2-1 win over Leicester :cool:

Hakola is fast but that's about it on mine :P His crossing could do with some work as he easily beats his man every time and has a solid opportunity to cross but ****s up :(

He's got about 13 crossing I think? It's not amazing but it'll do. I don't really play a typical 442 crossing game, mind, so he's great for me. And I adapted him to an AMC which I personally think his stats are better suited for. I posted his stats in this thread a few pages ago.

Dunno what all the fuss is about tbh :P

Then, no offence, but you don't really understand the workings of the game.

He's got all the attributes of both a good fast striker and a good target man striker. He's effectively two very good players in one. Add to that the fact that, at the start of the game, he'll happily come to a decent League One team for about 500k and - quite frankly - he's the best thing I've seen on FM in four years of games.

The only thing he doesn't have is 18+ Acc / Pace, but you really, really, REALLY don't need those things. Pace and acceleration are good in FM, sure, but they're also incredibly easily overrated. He's got enough, that's all that's important.

Let's be fair, if you're a Welsh footballer that's never been capped then you must be pretty fucking wank. ;)

Having an absolute nightmare so far in the Championship, winless in first 5 games. :|

Players just aren't turning it on and I haven't got a clue how to sort it!
