I don't want to piss on anyones bonfire (Tracian) but have a look at this.

Swansea 2007/8 - 4pts from first 4 games.

Forest 2007/8 - 3pts from first 4 games.

Sc.unthorpe 2006/7 - 2pts from first 4 games.

Bristol City 2006/7 - 3pts from first 4 games.

Southend 2005/6 - 5pts from first 4 games

Colchester 2005/6 - 4pts from first 4 games.

All these teams were automatically promoted, so you see since 2005 every team that got automatically promoted started bad. Teams that have been top at this stage have ONLY made the playoff's at best.

Last Season Leyton Orient started fantastic winning most of their early games and hardly conceding, infact they were top for a while but then they lost one game and then another and then another. Once you start to lose that first game(which has got to happen in this league) then you have to try and pick up the momentum again,if you lose another the following week then the manager starts to make the odd change and it's very hard to get that early form back.

Leicester have started well, just like Leyton Orient did last year but top of the table teams rarely stay top all season, infact I can't find an old table where this has happened, but looking at the run of play it is mid table teams at this point in the season(above) that take this Marathon as it should be.

Don't take anything for granted in this league cos you will end up with a large egg on your face.

Im pretty confident some of these posts on this thread will come back to haunt some Leicester fans.

I understand what you are saying, but we have the squad available to stay near the top of the league, and can strengthen if need be in January. We as a club won't take anything for granted, but for now, we'll enjoy our form and performances and worry about problems when they arise

Yes true and so have Leeds infact we could probably set out two strong squads for this league. The only problem Leeds is having is defence. We have dominated and controlled every league game so far and played good pass and move football(much better than last season) but we have switched off when opponents have been having 'rare breaks'. the formula has been wrong at the back which is strange as 4 of our defenders we have in our squad kept the second best defence record last season. I have no doubt we have a fantastic strikeforce and we have so much competition in midfield but it's just our back 4 that has let us down, our measily 5 pts so far don't reflect how well we are actually playing. Take Bristol Rovers last week. We were in their half for most of the game. They had 2 lucky breaks and scored on both occasions.

Leicester and Leeds both have to watch out for the smaller teams this season. Carlisle for one. The bad thing is, this league is unpredicatable.

I would be surprised if we weren't both in the top six at the end of the season. You will get better, we can get better (despite our excellent results, there is still room for improvement), but there is a long way to go, and rest assured, I won't be getting carried away yet.

I think Both Leicester and Leeds have the quality to be up there. It is too early to decide where the league is going for any of us. We both may be surprised and find Crewe or MK Dons domiating. This is how topsy turvy this league is!!

They won't haunt me. I'm enjoying watching the sort of attacking team I've longef for scoring a bagful of goals and would far rather have the chance to continue doing that than put up with the sort of negative shit we've served up in the Championship for years.

I've enjoyed going to unpretentious grounds like Stockport and Cheltenham anyway so I really don't care whether we go up or not. Promotion certainly holds no appeal if we end up reverting to the Kelly, Megson and Holloway defence-overload-type football we put people to sleep with during previous Championship campaigns.

It might be okay for those who don't care how we play so as we collect enough points to go up. But it doesn't float my boat.

Not that I know what past history has to do with this season's results in any case. We had a history of not winning back to back league matches but Pearson soon pissed on that.

Agree - Leeds was on track to win the league and that died in the arse quick smart.

But we are doing the right things, positive things, and as long as we keep it all up we will get the best results.

But leeds had 15 point to catch up with to start and lost their manager and assistant manager

Records and historys are there to be broke, just look at the record of every teams in premiership who is bottom at Christmas went on to be relegated West Brom broke that

Am delighted with our start but I can't comment much seeing that I haven't attended a game yet but I truly believe we have substance, most teams e.g Leyton Orient last year went off the boil possibly because they haven't depth of the squad as us so if any players's forms dip we have a decent replacements to slot in at least and Pearson is nobody's fool so he will act swiftly and I trust him to keep the players's feet firmly on the ground

Means absolutely nothing. Different season, different teams, different games. I won't be counting any chickens until we're 10 points clear with 3 games to go but I'm just happy to be playing well, scoring and winning. One game at a time, keep our feet on the floor and barring a massive injury list/Pearson being offered a top flight job we'll go straight back up.

Before we start celebrating promotion, we have a January transfer window and managierial merry go round as well as Mad Mandy to contend with - so we are no where near winning anything.

True I don't see us losing at the moment - but i no too well i support leicester and that our next fook up is only round the corner!

I though Forest fans liked to claim they didn't care about us?

They don't care about us apparently, but they don't half go on about us a lot.
