Lovejoy Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 Hate to sound shallow, but it's enough to get my vote .
Flynny Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 The lib-dems are similtaneously the most sensibly positioned party and the least ready for government. It's very frustrating.
Simi Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Waiting for Ched's essay. *must resist temptation*
purpleronnie Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 I voted lib dem last election they really should get more votes than they do, much more sensible than the other parties.
Guest Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 First of all, it's only a topic of discussion at their next party conference. Secondly, Cameron has said it's something he would consider reviewing (bit of carrot dangling for our Daily Mail readers.....). Thirdly, I could not bring myself to vote Lib Dem. Even if they promised standing.
Thracian Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Hate to sound shallow, but it's enough to get my vote . First Party leader to promise free Smarties gets to the PM. Or even better...

The politics of the matter(as I see it) are this; a)There aren't many votes to be gained by this. b)If standing were allowed and another Hillsborough type disaster were to happen a govt. could easily lose a lot of votes. Conclusion; not going to happen.
Ultra Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Clubs have spent too much money on building new stadia for terracing to be brought back.

Flynny Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Clubs have spent too much money on building new stadia for terracing to be brought back. Not if they made money by doing so. If they raised capacity by creating a standing area they'd probably continue to charge normal price for it anyway.
General Smuts Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 I knew there was a reason other than Paddy Ashdown and Lembit Opik that i vote Lib Dem.
Daggers Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 I knew there was a reason other than Paddy Ashdown and Lembit Opik that i vote Lib Dem. Jeremy Thorpe?
