lib dems support standing at football matches

First of all, it's only a topic of discussion at their next party conference.

Secondly, Cameron has said it's something he would consider reviewing (bit of carrot dangling for our Daily Mail readers.....).

Thirdly, I could not bring myself to vote Lib Dem. Even if they promised standing.

We're too busy hating minorities and being paranoid about non-existent crime to worry about things like that. :whistle:

The politics of the matter(as I see it) are this;

a)There aren't many votes to be gained by this.

b)If standing were allowed and another Hillsborough type disaster were to happen a govt. could easily lose a lot of votes.

Conclusion; not going to happen.

Clubs have spent too much money on building new stadia for terracing to be brought back.

Not if they made money by doing so. If they raised capacity by creating a standing area they'd probably continue to charge normal price for it anyway.
