lou Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 Ha ha, I'm not allowed to do the dishes because I don't "do it properly". Ahh the same tactic my husband and kids use!!!
Guest Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 Ahh the same tactic my husband and kids use!!! This is the thing, there is no tactic. I wish I could take credit for the avoidance!
Daggers Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 I ironed a shirt so badly in 1990 that I've never been allowed near the ironing since.
Alexikokopops Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 My favourite meal I did recently was paching a chicken breast in peineapple juice, chilli and honey and serving it with some brown rice a pepper (the veg, not the seasoning). It were lovely. I made some really quick chinese style chicken and sweetcorn soup t'other day. I think I might make homemade burgers soon, I haven't done that since bbq season last summer

Sir Fynwy is a huge fan of the stuff - I am not, but I am prepared to make him some. Aren't I lovely?
Sir Fynwy Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 I ironed a shirt so badly in 1990 that I've never been allowed near the ironing since. Pfft don't let women iron your shirts, they do it all wrong, Lisa never irons my stuff (and I don't iron hers).

Guest Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 Pfft don't let women iron your shirts, they do it all wrong, Lisa never irons my stuff (and I don't iron hers). True story. Won't it make the pie crust and chips all soggy? I am more than pie and chips.
Guest Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 No he's not, hot and sour soup I thought you liked it? You're going to tell me you only eat Cow Pie © out of sufferance.
Daggers Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 I am more than pie and chips. There is nothing more than pie and chips.

Sir Fynwy is a huge fan of the stuff - I am not, but I am prepared to make him some.Aren't I lovely? It's a really quick one that I cook if I'm being lazy. There's probably better ways to do it but this is a healthy one too (about 450 calories). This recipes for one Chicken & sweetcorn soup 1 tbs of soy sauce 1 pinch of white pepper 1 tsp of vegetable oil 1/2 pint of chicken stock 1 egg 1 tsp of cornflour 3 ozs. of sweetcorn 5 ozs. of chicken fillet 1. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and place in a bowl along with half of the soy sauce, pepper and half the oil. 2. Heat the stock in a large pot and add the remaining soy sauce. Once hot, add the beaten egg and stir gently, so the egg cooks in strands. 3. Place the cornflour in a small bowl and add a little water, stir to mix and stir into the soup. 4. Heat the remaining oil in a non-stick frying pan and stir-fry the chicken strips until cooked through. Add to the soup pot, bring to a boil and then, if preferred, liquidise the soup using a hand-held immersion blender or food processor. 5. Add the sweetcorn and heat thoroughly before serving.
Guest Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 There is nothing more than pie and chips. I wasn't going to run this past anyone, but I have come up with the concept of Mini-Cow Pie© as the new party food.
Daggers Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 I wasn't going to run this past anyone, but I have come up with the concept of Mini-Cow Pie© as the new party food. I could see that being a very popular party food. Almost as popular as prawn vol-au-vent and cheese&pineapple on a stick.
Guest Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 I could see that being a very popular party food. Almost as popular as prawn vol-au-vent and cheese&pineapple on a stick. I was hoping to create something to beat those two classics.

Samilktray Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Just made an omelette, first time of asking, perfect I hope. Well chuffed.
Guest Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Just made an omelette, first time of asking, perfect I hope.Well chuffed. Plain or with cheese? You can't beat an omelette with cheese
Samilktray Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Plain or with cheese? You can't beat an omelette with cheese Plain. First time I've took charge of the kitchen without a ready meal, so played it safe, plain with a few herbs n spices, lovely. Might be a bit more adventurous tomorrow
Tommy G Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I cook loads, love it. Trying to cook more curries from scratch but it costs a fortune to get all the spices you need. Once you have a decent set though you're good to go
Samilktray Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 The 15 minutes spent preparing and cooking said Omelette I found very theraputic.
