Libertine Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 its extremely obsolete and out dated This is Home Cooking, not Betamax.
Munzie Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 Cooking chilli is an art. My sister has absolutely perfected it. On top of what has already been mentioned try adding some worcester sauce and mixed herbs while cooking. Also tomato sauce. Works very well. Hers is the best chilli I have ever tasted. Chilli is best cooked with a glass of red wine...be careful not to spill it in the cooking though!!
Katy Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 I make a lot of stuff from scratch also, you cannot beat it. I do a mean pasta sauce, Quorn bolognese sauce and various casseroles. Sod feminism, give me a hob top any day of the week (apart from Mondays as Mondays at Uni including travel are cock hard knackering)
stez Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 Me & Mrs andyh1884 share the cooking, I really enjoy it.I do a mean pork fillet in maple syrup & soy sauce, very nice with a bit of garlic mash. that made me l.o.l i hope you and the mrs are actually called mr and mrs a. andyh1884. i'm shit hot at cooking, i just don't go on about it

Hullfox Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 who was doing the cooking while you were entertaining the troops then? That was the Au Pair. You don't think that someone that tasty would marry me do you? And yes she is behind me.
Nationwider Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 I love cooking but as we don't generally start to prepare a meal until at least 7.30pm, it's difficult to get motivated to do owt complex. Curries are probably my favourite thing to cook. I like to freestyle a bit. I've been perfecting a sort of prawn/chicken balti-style thing recently. Plenty of diced fresh chilli so you get some heat, but retain the flavour. I actually find cooking very relaxing. It's about the only thing I do in an organised fashion. I don't like cooking programmes on TV - better to get 2 or 3 good books about food you really like and work from them. I do hate it when people interfere though. In fact, as I type, I'm realising that I'm actually a kitchen control freak.
Unabomber Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 Love cooking, tonight me and my flat mate had steamed mussels in white wine sauce and then BBQ ribs and home made wedges. But nothing beats cooking a stupidly hot chicken madras mmmmmm.
stez Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 That was the Au Pair. You don't think that someone that tasty would marry me do you? And yes she is behind me. well, that explains everything! i thought 'blimey he's punching well above his weight there!'
Guest Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 I make a lot of stuff from scratch also, you cannot beat it. You know exactly what you're getting, and it is so much more healthier. Mrs HF can't cook. I do hate it when people interfere though. In fact, as I type, I'm realising that I'm actually a kitchen control freak. So it's not just me then?

Guest Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 Tonights delectable treat was home made chicken kiev, with home made potato wedges, and fine green beans (fine as in the thin ones, not fine as in "a mighty fine bean"). The kiev is much derided in my social circles, and heavily criticised as being old fashioned, however my version is beautiful. If a bit garlicky.....

Katy Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 I love my oven. If I lost it, I would cry. I am feeling your pain. Cheers mate, should get the new one in a few weeks and the first thing that goes in it are home made wedges.
