Joe. Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 Shouldn't think there'll be too many changes from the Orient game, possibly a couple at the back perhaps: (Likely) Henderson Gilbert Tunchev Morrison Berner Adams Oakley King Dyer Fryatt Howard That's what I think it'll be, wouldn't mind seeing something like that.

Looks good to me. I'd like to see DJ involved for a lot longer this time though.
Salieri Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 Swap Morrison for Hobbs Agreed. Morrison hasnt done too much wrong but i think Hobbs should get the nod over him. Hendo deserves a chance to stake his claim now as no1 keeper. Disappointed Gradels injured (anyone know the extent of it yet?) but Adams is an adequate replacement and should hopefully take his opportunity to impress. Still unconvinced about Oakley/King pairing but other than Weso we're pretty short on options there. Dj's just gonna have to hope for half hour or so to impress.......
Cobbo Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 ----------------Henderson Gilbert---Morrison---Tunchev---Powell Adams---Oakley------King------Dyer -----------Howard-----Fryatt Subs: Martin Hobbs Berner Weso Campbell Yeah baby. It's out there.

It would be nice to think that Hendo gets the nod although I'm not sure Pearson sees it that way. Fingers crossed. I think you're spot on there. Wasn't many players from Tuesday who would threaten any of the above places. Let's hope this stomach bug thing hasn't disrupted our plans.

Simi Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 Hendo Gilbert Hobbs Tunchev Powell Adams Oakley King Dyer Howard Fryatt How Morrison is still picked ahead of Hobbs confuses me.

Bert Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 I'm with you on that one. Are managers allowed to have favourites? It seems so. MM has played every minute so far this season.
James_lcfc Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 HendoGilbert Hobbs Tunchev Powell Adams Oakley King Dyer Howard Fryatt How Morrison is still picked ahead of Hobbs confuses me. I was thinking the same thing to be honest, Hobbs is clearly the more accomplished player. Morrison looks like Bambi-on-ice when he's in possession, always worries me.
Munzie Posted 25 September 2008 Posted 25 September 2008 It seems so. MM has played every minute so far this season. Pearson obviously sees something in him that perhaps we don't I appreciate that his is still learning his trade, but then again so is Hobbs. With the expectation of bouncing back up at the first time of asking, I would be thinking about my most robust back four having seen them in action over the last 10 or so games. My opinion would be that Hobbs offers a little bit more. Without tempting too much further debate on the tin pot cup, a good run in such a competition will allow for squad rotation (especially when Kisnorbo returns). And, who knows, given Hobb's parent team and the lack of opportunities he will face, a run in a promotion chasing side could turn a good loan signing into a great permanent acquisition for us.

I think Liverpool hold Hobbs in high regard, and rightly so, he's got a lot of good potential. I can't see us getting our hands on him anytime soon to be honest.

Jonezy Posted 27 September 2008 Posted 27 September 2008 I think Liverpool hold Hobbs in high regard, and rightly so, he's got a lot of good potential. I can't see us getting our hands on him anytime soon to be honest. Which is why, Nigel want to develop Morrison, hence giving him games ahead of Hobbs. Morrison is the man for the long haul. Hobbs will be back at Liverpool, when Hyypia runs out of steam. Tunch will be sold for a tidy profit, as soon as MM can get away with it. And if Kis finds his old form, he could be gone too, so that leaves Morrison behind.
