Am I the only guy who misses the old chants and dislikes the new ones?

What i mean is, my favourite chants such as the 'leicester leicester, leicesteeeeer, leicester' or 'when the blues come marching in' have been replaced by the

new chants such as 'f*uck the ball, get into 'em' and 'who the fooking hell are you'. And, lets be honest, who can blame other clubs for calling us scummy where every chant has the f word in it?

Your thoughts?

Those chants haven't gone anywhere!!

And the other two that you mentioned have also been around for ages and personally think they've been used less this season than in previous years!

Actually this thread is the perfect place to say this.....

I hate the chant,

Leicestershire la la la...

Sounds like we should be down Grace Rd.

i do go down grace road!

you mean the 2 most boring, unoriginal chants in football? :frusty:

The others you meantion are equally as shit but then again we have always had pretty lame chants at the best of times!

I can't see anything changing really, as long as we're winning and playing good football i couldn't really care less, i'm really enjoying this season so far

I would have thought that a chant is by definition boring a song on the other hand.......

ive been following leicester and chelsea for years (born in london raised in leicester), with split family loyalties. And i have to say, leicester fans are so boring in comparison to the chelsea fans. Everyone says how quiet the bridge is, but in comparison to leicester, it is ridiculously loud. I went to stoke away yesterday, and i can honestly say it was one of the best games of my life. 4,000 fans didnt sit down once and never stopped singing throughout, with more songs than city have had in their history. I couldnt wipe the smile off my face.

Dont get me wrong, i love leicester as much as any of you, but i cant even be arsed to sing any more at city, because our songs are so unoriginal, and the only people that sing are the 14 year old spotty chavs making complete twats of themselves. It embarrasses me to see these nobs calling themselves the "l1" boizzz thinking there hard throwing a couple of plastic cups. I was at sheff utd away last year when it kicked off and all these hard lads never threw a punch when a couple of real hooligans, and im talking 3 or 4 here fronted about 40 of them. I just laughed.

Im sounding very critical, but i do love it when the whole stadium gets behind the lads, ive sang all my life at the football ( 16 years following city) but im really begginning to consider packing it in at the walkers and just going away. Going to city at home is a complete waste of time and money alike.

Bizarre statement! why go to Stoke then?

Can't say I don't agree with what you say, spotty chavs and all that.but don't say your a Leicester fan

when and if the glory returns feel free to make up your own songs and we will all join in + maybe..just maybe Chelsea fans have a bit more to sing about

A lot of the lack of atmosphere comes from the Kop/L1 divide but that's been covered elsewhere, repeatedly, but I totally sympathise with anyone who doesn't want to be at the home games.

I hear some of the songs that other teams have and I wonder why we never get anything like that at City. The reason why Iwan is A Welshman still gets an airing is because it was the last time we thought up a good song of our own - 14 years ago. The goal music, Ring Of Fire and the Fryatt song are about classic examples of why our atmosphere is crap. No words - mainly because half the "14 year old spotty chavs" can't remember anything past what they had for breakfast - just aimless tunes that mean nothing to anyone.

It won't get better until the Kop/L1 divide is resolved because it gets worse by the generation but, as has been said before, the divide will never be resolved.

Well you don't if you sing for the home side at Stamford Bridge in my opinion.

You've just compared a Leicester home game to a Chelsea away game, of course the away game's going to be better! When we played Chelsea at the Bridge last season the home fans made no noise whatsoever while the 6000 Leicesters sang for 90 minutes. My mate's brother is a Chelsea season ticket holder and he certainly doesn't harp on about the home atmosphere. To be honest there aren't that many places where the home support is consistently good.

Also not losing at home since 2005 helps the optimism I guess!

Still, on 5 live the other day, it was mentioned by Al Green that The Bridge certainly is not an intimidating atmosphere...

Howard Webb said the most intimidating ground he has been to is Everton

So Chelsea meet Leicester in the Cup Final who are you supporting?

As someone who was also born in Chelsea, London, St Stephen's Hospital Fulham Road and raised in Leicester and who's family were all from London I have no hesitation in saying Leicester City what say you?

Apologies for not being as loyal to Chelsea as you have been over the years, but to me their support is a joke. Care Free is the only song that really gets an airing at their home games, maybe a "We all the follow the Chelseaaaaa.." as well. Not much more. They are poor JCL fans and if it wasn't for the money men would be struggling in mid table, especially with all the competition there is now.

As for your second paragraph. What a boring read that was, obviously you don't get to Leicester much now if you think these "14 year old chavs" dominate. Really does make me laugh when our support come out with complete dog shit like that.

I stand in L1 among these "14 year old chavs" who I've not seen that many of to be honest. :dunno: . They are loyal fans and follow the club both home and away, L1 that is. I was also at Sheffield United away and was probably in the group you were talking about. Lets have it right as well, about 10 blokes came out the door and threw glass bottles at us for no reason. Before anyone could think about reacting, the Police were man-handling City fans up against the wall and using force. No pleasing some really, if they'd of fought back I guess you'd be calling them the scum of the earth and telling us they need to be locked away.

Yes, blame the 14 year old chavs again. That's it.

I mean lets not think to blame the mardy ****ers who sit around the Walkers winging at anyone with a voice who feels they need to express themselves. Also lets not think to consider the clubs fortunes over the past few years, I'm sure that has nothing to do with our poor lack of songs for individual players.

You've got it bang on, it's those 14 year old chavs who follow the team home and away and sing their hearts out that are ruining the atmosphere.

Edit : Apologies for coming over very strong, can't be arsed to edit it now, just some things annoy me in ways I can't explain!

I don't even remember any kind of "scuffle" or whatever the muppet described it as. The bottles I saw thrown came from over a wall? There was never any confrontation that I saw really?

and why do we sing about forest when we are not actually playing forest????

annoys me that.

Annoys me as well. They are not important and not in our division.
