Unit Posted 22 February 2010 Posted 22 February 2010 I've had to write a massive essay on copyright and shit at the moment, my lecturer recommends just sticking them on piratebay - anything legal of course- and using a magnet link, you can't shut down a magnet link. Might get tedious though with having to have a seperate file for each game.
Shrenchel Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 Don't give up so easily mate. When I lived in Spain your videos were like a ruby in shitpit in terms of keeping in touch with City. Plenty of other video sites out there which havent got the football league chomping at their turtle head.
Ozwin Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 Just upload your videos on megaupload under a false name with foxestalk as a password. Job done.
ozleicester Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 thanks for your efforts Davie, does this mean your highlights on "your page" are also gone? If not.. meh, i will happily hit your page every week, infact ad a couple of adverts to it and ill click on them to help
Jonezy Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 Crap. But thanks for all the efforts. They were really appreciated.
MikeyT Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 I uploaded some Leicester related stuff last year and got the same email pretty much. I can't even remember what it was i uploaded now, but that email you got read pretty much the same as mine did.
OzFox Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 Living in Australia, I've enjoyed Mr G's highlights as much as anyone else. Thanks Davie! However, I also work in television, and it kind of amuses me that some people expect to receive professionally produced content for free. At the end of the day, your pay tv/internet subscriptions etc. pay the wages of people like me, otherwise I'd be off doing something else (probably more interesting) And lets face it, a subscription to Foxes player hardly breaks the bank
CosbehFox Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 Just been warned off again and have had to delete all the youtube stuff. Appears they are on their latest drive, they have started closing down live streams recently.
lcfcadam Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 And lets face it, a subscription to Foxes player hardly breaks the bank Except that Foxes Player is the single worst piece of software ever created by human hands - slow, unreliable, an absolute no-no abroad in my experience... I could go on! I wouldn't pay 1p a month for the priviledge of having such a piece of crap.
dandannieldanok Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 That's a shame, was really hand having those videos. As for everyone saying try on different sites e.t.c., is it really worth it? You don't want to get into any hot water over this, it's not worth it.

I could go on!I wouldn't pay 1p a month for the priviledge of having such a piece of crap. It's worth it for the radio commentary alone in my view, which works fine out here. The video highlights are a bit dubious, which is why I tend to head to DavieG first
lcfcadam Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 It's worth it for the radio commentary alone in my view, which works fine out here. IF it works, then yeah of course it's worth it. It DIDN'T work in the States when my mate tried it though - apparently he could've shot someone such was the frustration...
Monk Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 That's a real bummer. Have you tried Vimeo? Also, could you just give the clips a weird name or something so they are less likely to be picked up?
Guest Mee-9 Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 I wouldn't bother deleting them. Youtube are pricks. When they send you the copyright dispute, quote the 1988? copyright law. It's actually not against the law to distribute the videos onto youtube, as you are not doing anything with them. If they do delete your account. You could upload them onto Hulu.com or other sites like Vimeo. Don't give up mate.
lcfcadam Posted 23 February 2010 Posted 23 February 2010 Youtube are pricks. To be fair it's not really Youtube's fault - they have to abide by the stupid laws of the countries they operate in. The British Lawmakers and The Football League are the pricks...

Joe. Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 I think MegaUpload's definitely the way forward DavieG. Like Monk says, just use an obscure file name and it should be fine. Thanks as well by the way, it was nice seeing the goal from last night actually on the night rather than this morning!
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 24 February 2010 Posted 24 February 2010 Have you considered www.dailymotion.com? The copyright spies seem to have fewer eyes on it.
davieG Posted 24 February 2010 Author Posted 24 February 2010 I'm not too fussed to be honest, I only used youtube for the Sky bits, for the pukka highlights I can still, hopefully use my website.

Sod off and use foxes player! oh ant btw Sky sports news is available for free here in the UK on FREEview.
davieG Posted 24 February 2010 Author Posted 24 February 2010 oh ant btw Sky sports news is available for free here in the UK on FREEview. And that's what makes it all so silly and petty but they draw a line and it allows for no flexibility or common sense.
