Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 October 2008 Posted 5 October 2008 But my point is, I wouldn't mind if people were talking about PS3 or 360 or PC gaming in general... but they're not... It's just all PES or FIFA or CM.... That's like having a footbll forum and just talking about corner flags... Just what are they there for? I mean, apart from giving Geoff Thomas something to aim for on his one and only England cap when clean through with only the goalie to beat. In fact all they do is get in the way, so that, when the ball should be going out, it actually stays in. That's stupid, it's like having 4 extra players on the pitch of indeterminate allegience! Here's my idea for replacing cornerflags. Landmines. Just think how much more exciting the game will be! Not only will the defending team desperately try to avoid giving away a corner, but so will the attacking team - though come to think of it, defending teams might deliberately give away corners. Well, apart from that obvious oversight, it will also discourage teams for playing into the corner flag during the final couple of minutes of the match in order to defend a tenuous one goal lead - removing one of the most annoying parts of football in one fell swoop! Also, as well as ball boys (NOTE: extra balls may well prove essential!) you could also have "mine minions" who replace the mines everytime they have been carelessly detonated. This is the future of football!
Stevosevic Posted 5 October 2008 Posted 5 October 2008 To make it easy to see if the ball goes for a throw in or corner.
DB11 Posted 5 October 2008 Posted 5 October 2008 To stop the ball crossing exactly on the point where the two lines meet?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 October 2008 Author Posted 5 October 2008 To stop the ball crossing exactly on the point where the two lines meet? Landmines would achieve the exact same result, but with far more spectacle!

Phube Posted 6 October 2008 Posted 6 October 2008 To stop the ball crossing exactly on the point where the two lines meet? But what if the ball is over 5 ft!!?
AmericanScott Posted 7 October 2008 Posted 7 October 2008 But what if the ball is over 5 ft!!? Now that's thinking outside of the box.
