Jon the Hat Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 unless it involves dennis wise , lee bowyer or joey barton It quickly becomes clear when incidents keep on happening that the person in question is a fool. Wise is a twat but not aware of any off the field bother like Bowyer or Barton.

Bert Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Day after Lincoln at home, sounds to me like some of the Lincoln lads wanted it with him. Why would the mighty Lincoln, be waiting around in Humberstone Gate the day after a game where he didn't even play?
Jon the Hat Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 i was merely trying to point out that being a footballer is not mutually exclusive from being an idiot, a twat or a fool ... in fact that would cover an awful lot of young footballers. And it seems Wise can be grouped with Bowyer and Barton.
Thracian Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 According to the Merc.To be tried early next year for being drunk and disorderly in Humberstone Gate on September 24th. He denied the charge when he appeared before magistrates to confirm his name, age and address. He was released on unconditional bail until January 29th. And I'd wondered what disorder he'd got which so upset the authorities! Good luck to the bloke anyway. He's striking a blow for those of us who hate officious people forever dictating the 'order' we should maintain. Think of the potential pluses to a piss up and a punch up on a Saturday night. The landlord benefits from the pisshead's spending, so does the brewery and the brewery workers. The pisshead gets to let off steam thus, surely, relieving stress, getting some valuable exercise (when he might otherwise have been vegetating in a chair) and hopefully experiencing the satisfaction of whacking home a good blow or two. Then there's the policemen who benefit cos they're paid for sorting the situation instead of being bored stupid patrolling empty streets with sod all happening. Not only do the plods get their wages but probably a filing clerk too and any number of evaluation specialists who might be concerned with the pisshead's welfare. Then there's the magistrates merry-go-round it helps to maintain and the contribution by way of fine that may also find its way into community coffers. Next come the tradesman called to mend any broken windows or replace a smashed chair or two... Who knows, perhaps a nurse, X-Ray specialist and a doctor get an earner too if the bundle really takes off. Would they really like to complete a shift with no-one getting hurt and no-one needing treatment? And where would the lawyers be if no-one claimed damages for six months loss-of-earnings caused by a bruised finger... There's really no end to it. So here's to disorder. It's much underrated.
The Blur Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Why would the mighty Lincoln, be waiting around in Humberstone Gate the day after a game where he didn't even play? Took words off my mouth or in that case fingers there!] He would probably get away with it like most of footballers these days
General Smuts Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Doesn't shock me when i started at Nissan i was told he spat at someone in a Nissan showroom once and was a diva. Doesn't bother me so much as long as he keeps playing well.
Munzie Posted 13 October 2008 Posted 13 October 2008 Has there been any further information on what actually happened? Can't imagine he was drunk and disorderly on his own! It'll be interesting to find out how the club deals with this. I would imagine Pearson will have something to say or punishment to dish out. That said, we'll probably never find out. We could do with some insider gossip. Knowitall, where are you?

As he's innocent at least until the trial on Jan 29th I doubt there's any club punishment to know about.
skinnydipper Posted 14 October 2008 Posted 14 October 2008 Hands up who hasn't been drunk and disorderly
