Floating Fox Posted 26 October 2008 Posted 26 October 2008 I can't believe some of the arrogance on here. Obviously many are too young to remember Harlow Town! We were not a third division outfit in those days but we still lost. We could play the youngsters and lose and that would look really good wouldn't it. Sides like this deserve our respect and if our players think they will walk all over them then we will lose. I suspect Stevenage would probably bring well over 1000 fans if they get through. Lower league football needs all the financial help it can get and as a club previously in administration we should all recognise this fact and if the prices are ok turn out for this one. Correct about the arrogance. That will be the same reason I won't go to this game. People wil turn up expecting us to put about 10 past them The morons are bad enough for home league games when teams have an equal squad as us, so when we play a team with a squad generally a lot worse than ours it will be horrific. Stevenage won't bring 1000 fans, they only managed to get a gate of 1000 yesterday for their FA cup game. Horsham would be even less too. Lower league football does need all the financial help it can get, which is why in the first few rounds of the FA cup, if a team is drawn against a team in a lower league at home, the roles should be switched, and it should be played at the smaller teams ground, as they do in some European countries. This way, more money is given to the lower league team, and the playing field is evened slightly.
