Tale of two chances

Although our manager is understandably disappointed we didn't take either of our two one-on-one chances against Northampton I really don't see that the two were the same.

Dyer was coming in at an angle and had less time anyway. Yes he might have been expected to score but the goalkeeper was always in with a fighting chance when he narrowed the angle and spread himself.

With Fryatt there was acres of space, lots of time, he could have shot when he liked and, had he chosen the right time, all the efforts of the goalkeeper couldn't have blocked the big spaces Fryatt had to put the ball in.

To me Dyer's was more a good save and Fryatt's more a bad miss. Perhaps both amends tonight.

Definitely.

Just watching Big League Weekend, they didn't even show Fryatt's. Farce.

Both were poor misses IMO. Fryatt's was pretty much unforgivable, Dyer's was embarrassing. What annoyed me about Fryatt's was that had he slid the ball across to the oncoming Gradel, the goalie would have been absolutely nowhere.

Fryatt is crap on one-on-one's, we all know that. He is much better when he's got little time and is forced to shoot early, his first goal at Huddersfield being an example of that.

Both chances should have been put away though. Dyer is normally composed and deadly in those situations.

A better title for this thread would have been A Tale of Two Titties. :giggle:

what was most annoying was that when Dyer crossed after the keeper had saved it Fryatt had gone to sleep, a striker when in the 6 yard box should always be alert, wanting and expecting the ball, had Fryatt been he would of had an easy tap in

i think with the fryatt chance if you look closely, his last few touches before he shoots are shocking, he gets the ball stuck and then sees the defender in the corner of his eye which he should have ignored but it got to him and he miss hit the shot!

I thought Fryatt was the best finisher at the club? That's what loads on here have been harping on about for ages anyway :crylaugh: .
