Anish Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Although I take no joy in this, it seems that Gary Megson is falling flat on his arse and proving that we were right when we slated his management whilst he was here. He did well to keep Bolton up last season but he's being found out yet again - they are now bottom of the league and without a goal in 3 games. Thank God Gartside poached him when he did - best bit of business Mandaric did last season!
Head Honcho Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 I'd still doubt we'd have been relegated had he stayed. Glad he's gone though!
Tevez Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Bloody hell, since when was the league decided by November? Still early days yet.
Lovejoy Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Megson was the best of last season's 3 managers. I genuinely think he'd have kept us up. Most of our fans never gave him a chance .
Flynny Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Megson was dire but we'd not have gone down. Anyone remember our lovely stalemate at S****horpe with Kisnorbo's perfectly good goal disallowed? (would have kept us up!) I love how people seem to have decided Allen was shit almost entirely out of a kind of bitterness that all that massive optimism we had last summer disappeared the same time he did.

lildave3 Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 No goal threat, never fancy them to score. I too reckon they'll drop.
Daggers Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Thank God Gartside poached him when he did - best bit of business Mandaric did last season! As Flynny says: we wouldn't have gone down if we'd kept him. Which makes it the worst business decision MM made last season.
Tilley Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 After Gartside's comments on the Premier League structure, I hope Bolton do drop.
Corky Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 We would've survived with Megson- but his brand of football would have sent Thrac over the edge
Uncle Albert Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 We would've survived with Megso No we wouldnt.
Koke Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 As Flynny says: we wouldn't have gone down if we'd kept him.Which makes it the worst business decision MM made last season. How can you be so sure? We will never know what would happen if Megson had stayed. Anyway, on Megson himself, one particular thing I found incredible was the way he went about playing Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Cup. You drew 1-1 at home, you going to Lisbon, and what does genius Megson do? He fields a weak side because his priority is too stay up in the league. Had they gone through that day, they'd be in the Quarter Finals. Call me silly, but at this stage I'd rather put my entire energy on reaching the UEFA Cup final. Who's gonna remember Bolton finishing 18th, when its quite evident they gonna down a few years later anyway - With the right attitude and luck, Bolton could have reached the final which is quite an achievement for the club. But he chose not to go for the UEFA Cup. What an insult it was to the fans who travelled to Lisbon.
Jack Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 They're 2-0 up against Man City at the minute, a very good result for them.
lildave3 Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 Man City are shit away, even so, I didn't expect this.
Asha Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 Manchester City are really inconsistant. It's pissing me off in regards to fantasy league.
