How about Shai's MVP win!

Proud of my fellow Hamiltonian!

Proud yet again to see SGA play a massive part in winning the title. Well done, congratulations!

Happy for Shai. The best Canadian basketball player ever.

Congrats to Oklahoma on winning their first title, well second, if you count their win as the Sonics.

Bit ironic that the MVP of the league and of the NBA playoffs is from Canada.

Okay, I'm not sure if that's actually ironic. I will have to ask Alanis.

Would ya?

In the US or Canada when a team moves cities, do the fans of the original team still follow them or do they stop following them in their new guise? Is the general feeling love, hate or apathy?

Obviously its franchise step up but I am curious.

As a Sonics fan from the 90s I was hoping Pacers would win this series.

Usually there's some hard feelings when a team relocates and I'd doubt many support the 'new' team.

I liked that 90' Sonics team too and if wasn't for Shai playing for the Thunder, I'd have preferred a Pacers win.

Shame for Indiana losing Haliburton to injury in the first quarter.

If a team relocated, they would be dead to me. Why support an owne/team who doesn't support your city?  It's not the players fault so I would still have love for them but no thanks!

Looking forward to the season, back on Sky too, favourite time is the play offs though.

Sadly don't think the Lakers will be winning the title but when Lebron goes next year, Luka should get some decent support.

Will the Thunder go back to back, first since the Warriors, much harder these days

Good opening win for the Raptors in Atlanta last night.

Have to admit I don't watch as much as I used to, but I still always check and see how they are doing.

I was actually at their very first ever home game here and in the 90's I used to go to quite a few of their games. The company i worked for at that time was one of the main sponsors.

I cant even recall the last time I was in Toronto. Probably at least 20 years ago.

Billups, Rozier and Jones arrested for illegal gambling and sports rigging via organised crime with mafia connections. More arrests to follow and the case has global depth.

This is just the tip of the iceberg ladies and gents. It's what most of us knew is happening in major sports. The corruption is huge, these millionaires (players, managers, coaches, agents, owners etc) are criminals. Not only they're making millions for doing nothing but they want more via criminal activity.

The teams/clubs worldwide are also to blame for letting their brand names participate/used in official betting. If I was the owner of our beloved Leicester City I wouldn't allow any betting companies to use the club in any sort of betting activity or just demand 100M for each game the club is used by betting companies. 100M from each of them every week.

Some might say I'm exaggerating but I'm not. Betting has killed thousands, destroyed the lives of millions probably yet it's still allowed by the corrupted governments that know what is happening behind the scenes and these governments are practically collaborating with the mafia.

I'll probably copy/paste this to a few other topics if this is OK with the mods of the forum.

Terry Rozier's salary last season was just under $25m. You'd think NBA players earn enough not to be tempted by these side-hustles. If NBA players are doing it then it must be rife in other sports. Like you say - tip of the iceberg.

We all know what it's happening. We just don't have evidence like the FBI. Families and friends of these professional players are involved indirectly and there's a huge mafia organised group behind all major sports. We know it's happening in football in Europe, we just can't prove it. If people think the same isn't happening in PL they're deluded. Billups and Rozier are huge names there, I can't even imagine what's actually going on behind the scenes in leagues like PL, Serie A or La Liga. The corruption must be 10x times bigger than the NBA in European football.
