Just heard on RL that funding has been withdrawn for basketball. Talking to someone and she says she was confused as if a sports doing well surely you should keep funding it not withdraw it.

Just caught the end of talking to the Riders coach. They need a regular venue at the end of the season. They are doing well and would be a pity if they could not find a place.

sounds ridiculous if true.

Basketball is a growing sport nationally and internationally.

GB need to build on the celebrity that players like Luol Deng have brought them - especially with Freeland making the NBA this year.

Leicester City Council should be ashamed if they can't provide a suitable gym for rifers basketball. Back in the day it was Granby Halls. A city of Leicester's size and sporting prowess should be ashamed not to have teams in all major and not so major sports.

Build an ice rink as well and get those sports going again.

When I compare the money and effort put into sports by the French and associations in France. the UK is very embarrassing.

Build on the Olympics - don't give up for another 50 years until the time.

Brooklyn and Oklahoma are on ESPN.

Great start from the Nets 50-30 ahead.

Good win for the Nets.

Good win for the Nets.

More surprising than anything else. Brooklyn have been somewhat indifferent since their solid start to the season.

The only thing good about the Nets is the clobber.

Knicks with a good win over the Purs last night (even if it was their 4th game in 5 nights).

The Spurs have definitely been given the league's shittiest first half schedule. Greg Popovich went full Ian Holloway about this earlier.

Sky Sports have just announced that NBA coverage begins with the Piston v Kicks game on Jan 17th.

Yep seen this earlier myself, absolutely brilliant news, hope it kicks on more next season as well.

ESPN will of course show more games than Sky leading up to the play-offs, as they usually show games in midweek as well, but i'm glad Sky has got some coverage especially of the play-offs.

Don't get me wrong the Knicks are fun to watch but against Detroit !!!!!!

At the moment the clippers, Lakers and Denver are fun teams to watch.

I'd have to say that Spurs, Clippers and Thunder are the best teams in the league on current play.

Lakers a fun team to watch?

With how badly they have started, with their star studded team I wouldn't call them fun.

Clippers are fun to watch, because they have started well, and Chris Paul is playing well.

Sky Sports left British Basketball almost destitute when they pulled the plug on TV coverage some years ago.

They should be backing the BBL with live coverage, it seems back on the up despite being stitched up by them.

you equate fun with winning. why should that surprise me? I find every Lakers game fun to watch as they work through the process with their star studded team.

How any team with Nash on it can't be described as fun is beyond me - they also happen to have one of the greatest competitors of our generation on the team, a big cry baby and a skilled but always questioned big man. Great viewing.

Clippers are fun to watch because they run up and down the basketball court slamming the ball through the hoop.

I hate Sky Sports. Yes they should pump some money into the sport but so should the government.

Detroit v Knicks game is only on due to it being in London.

Would love to have gone but wasn't going to pay the silly money for tickets.

Bad result for Knicks v Celtics, still can't stand Pierce's smug facelol

I can't stand Pierce either but Melo was an ass yesterday - he should have been ejected and only stayed on through star status. Disgrace.

Must be one of the few times in my life I've actually cheered the Celtics on in a game.

Rondo, who wasn't playing, has taken over as the biggest tv gangsta on the team though.

I was surprised that no Knick got in there in place of Melo to save him being ejected (even though he wasn't).

I see that Howard, Gasol and Hill are all out for the Lakers as of today.

You gotta laugh haven't you?

Melo was actually waiting for Garnett out by the Celtics' team bus last night, having tried to get at him in the visitors' locker room after the game.

Yeah, I read that after I watched the game. fool. He's going to be easy to crack in the playoffs. I like the thought of a Celtics, Knicks first round matchup. That could be fun. Hopefully the Heat can pick up the winner in the second round for another fun matchup.

London Lions v Leicester Riders live on Sky Sports 3 tonight at 7pm

Melo and Garnett were both going at it all game. Garnett threw the elbow first I might add. It was all just a heat of the moment thing, nothing more.

Garnett did no different to what he always does. Melo was a mardy little bitch and the video clips of him going to the Celtic locker room and bus just show it. He needs to sort himself out in order to lead Knicks to the promised land.

Heat got killed on the boards again last night. but we actually lose when we don't shoot well or the opposition shoot exceedingly well. The team need to do something about their attitude to regualr season games because there is a long way to go to the playoffs.
