How it was only 1-0 i'll never know?! Typical City hanging on at the end

Could, and probably should have been a far more comfortable scoreline but who gives a ****, it was a good performance and we're top of the league!!!

Job done. No idea how we played but the stats suggest is comfortable. Bit worrying that we are so relient on Fryatt and Dyer to score because if they don't then no-one does but we'll moan about that when they stop scoring as well.

Top of the League :scarf:

Well done lads.......shame about the white knuckle ride at the end!!! wouldn't expect anything else tho!

Sounded like a much improved performance, long may it continue.

It's ok certain people saying "oh Howard is doing his share, heading on, hussling, etc" BUT he is a striker in the end and his ratio is nothing short of a joke! i wouldn't drop him tho as Dickov and Campbell can't be fully fit yet but if this carries on then surely something has to be looked at? if he ends up with say 7/10 goals that's just poor for a striker of his supposedly calibur and the league he is in?

Yes but when DJ an Dico are back fit and playing well he will realise that he has to fight for his position so will noch up a gear or two.

Please can we just bask in the result and the fact we're top of the league for at least a little while before the standard post match recriminations begin to surface!

I would say this though, Howard is indeed a striker but does a hell of a lot of good (largely unnoticed) work to in benefit of his team mates. A comparison i could draw in terms of his unselfishness is a certain Emile Heskey, not the greatest goalscorer in the world but a valuable asset all the same....

And before you jump on my back, im not suggesting Stevie Howard is of the same quality as Emile, he's just a player who doesnt get the credit he deserves.

I hope so, i'm not a complete Howard hater but his ratio is quite embarrassing and he is a striker in the end!
