davieG Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 source Centre-half Worley returns to Foxes A bid to bolster Luton's attacking options with the loan signing of experienced striker Barry Hayles was thwarted by Leicester City's refusal to let him go. Manager Mick Harford revealed that Town did try to take the 36-year-old former Stevenage Borough striker on loan, but the Midlands club knocked back the Hatters approach. He said: We have made an inquiry for Barry Hayles as we have made a lot of inquiries for players and strikers. Harford also confirmed that young centre-half Harry Worley has returned to the Foxes following his loan spell at Kenilworth Road. He added: With George Pilkington training again he will hopefully be involved at the weekend in the FA Cup so we through it was the right move to send Harry back. "I'm sure he will learn from the experience. He played a few league games and he will get better for the few games he did have here."
Koke Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 So I wonder where Worley will go from here. He's light years away from getting a sniff of first team football at our club.
dandannieldanok Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 Why didn't we just let them have Barry with a 24 hour recall incase we needed him. With DJ back and Dickov close to full fitness he's 5th choice.
Unabomber Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 Suprised at not letting Barry go, with DJ, Dickov and Chambers all just about fit now.
Dr The Singh Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 Suprised at not letting Barry go, with DJ, Dickov and Chambers all just about fit now. He's the only option we have for abit of physical presence, other then Howard!!!
Matt Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 TBH I'd rather have Hayles play over DJ, Dickov...Chambers - I'd quite like to see him but isn't he still injured after his leg break?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 So I wonder where Worley will go from here. He's light years away from getting a sniff of first team football at our club. I'd be surprised if he doesn't leave in January. Unfortunate really, I don't think we ever saw enough of him, and he was really thrown in at the deep end by Holloway.
DB11 Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 Maybe they didn't let Luton have him because they weren't happy with the way Worley was treated or something?
carterfox90 Posted 25 November 2008 Posted 25 November 2008 what for worley now another loan out looks his only choice i think

Not sure that matters. He's clearly been deemed not good enough by Pearson during pre-season.

Scow Posted 25 November 2008 Posted 25 November 2008 He's the only option we have for abit of physical presence, other then Howard!!! Bang on. Hayles is a useful option to have available on the bench and he's relatively match fit after his spell at Cheltenham.
