chesterfox Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 I have managed to get to Huddersfield and Stockport and am planning to go to Carlisle as well. Respect to those who have been to all - what have been your best worst experiences? Last minute winner v Hudders for me ........ Stockport's ground was a 'proper' footy ground.
Tilley Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Orient was probably my favourite. Stockport being the worst.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Missed Oldham and Swindon. Best moment was King's winner at S****horpe. Worst moment was Brighton's winner.
Corky Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Well I've been to four away matches this season, and we've won on every occasion- Orient, Col U, Huddersfield and S**** horpe. My best experience was probably Col U or Scun thorpe, I can't really say for worst. I didn't really enjoy Huddersfield that much, for some reason. My best moment was the win on Saturday- you could see it meant so much to our supporters.

In fact the last game I missed home or away was Jan 1st against QPR. Some great memories in that lot.... I'm yet to have a bad away game this season as all have been memorable for some reason or another. Even the likes of Brighton and Rotherham were great nights just because of the laughs that we had in the stands. For me, the actual match is no longer the main part of an away day.

Asha Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Been 4 aways this year...Stockport, Orient, Oldham and Scuny Scunny probably my favourite out the 4. Stockport was shit.
Corky Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Been 4 aways this year...Stockport, Orient, Oldham and ScunyScunny probably my favourite out the 4. Stockport was shit. Hasn't Oakley hit you in the warm-up on two occasions?
Tommeh Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 I've been to all so far and would have to say that there are 4 moments that stand out all equal in my opinion, Dyers last minute winner at Huddersfield, Howards goal at Oldham, Kings goal on Saturday and the last minute winner at Orient. Worst experience was the 1st half at Huddersfield, endlessly being chased by stewards moving seats to avoid them knowing about 20 odd people spread over the ground and not being near any of them. Best day on the whole has been Chelteham, a real proper day out. Nearly forgot Fulham, what a night that was. Even the dog ones, Brighton, Rotherham have been decent nights out. More of the same please in 2009.
syston_fox Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 How do you afford it? Still live at home with the folks. Means that I get quite a lot of disposable income from my wages each month. Im making the most of it at the moment and aiming to do every single game this season and then see where we stand in the summer.... might be time to grow up then! <_<
Asha Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Hasn't Oakley hit you in the warm-up on two occasions? Yes. How did you know about the Scunny one?
Corky Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Yes. How did you know about the Scunny one? You mentioned it on another thread
Asha Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 You mentioned it on another thread Ahh yes I did. To be fair though, I was stood to the left of the left post and said to my uncle 'I'm gonna get hit again here'. Not quite as spectacular as Stocky though

Unabomber Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Been to most away games this year the best moment would be Dyer's goal at Huddersfield and the worst would probably be Rotherham in the cup if that counts. If it is just the league then not being able to score at Stockport that was annoying.
Asha Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Were you near the front on Saturday? Back row. But for the warmup I was at the front.
Katy Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Still live at home with the folks. Means that I get quite a lot of disposable income from my wages each month. Im making the most of it at the moment and aiming to do every single game this season and then see where we stand in the summer.... might be time to grow up then! <_< Nah, tis overrated love. I've been to quite a few this season, on the pitch highlights being S****horpe and Huddersfield and lowlights being Brighton and Rovrum. Generally always have a laugh at away games though, it's the people you're with who make it for me.
Joe. Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Just missed Orient and Oldham so far. Best moment has to be Lloyd's last minute winner at Huddersfield. Worst can only be Brighton...
lildave3 Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Yes, haven't missed a game yet. Not since Burnley last season in fact
syston_fox Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Yes, haven't missed a game yet.Not since Burnley last season in fact And you'd better be joining me on one of these random games as well at some point now you're earning!
lildave3 Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 And you'd better be joining me on one of these random games as well at some point now you're earning! Yeah i'm well keen tbh. Sometime in January, sort me one out.
Bert Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Missed Colchester due to work, and Scunny due to being in a poker tournament else I'd have been at them all. Cheltenham was class, but Huddersfield was just as good, if not more enjoyable, for me.
clazkel Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 I've been Cheltenham, Orient, Colchester, Oldham, Brighton, Swindon, S****horpe. Gutted i didn't go Huddersfield (especially) and Stockport as i had to work Scunny has to be the best as the win meant soo much but it was really cold, Cheltenham was a great day out, and what an easy win, and the sun was shining. And the 'we're the left side/right side' chant was quality. Worst moment had to be Brighton, too far from the pitch so couldn't really see what was going on, and being 2-0 up and losing 3-2 was gutting. Swindon equalising aswell when we were 2-0 up wasn't great either. I prefer away games to homes games the atmosphere is soo much better
