Brainy Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 The FIA are investigating Alonso's win at Singapore last year. Apparently Piquet might have been ordered to crash to bring out the safety car.
Asha Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 Dream race for me. Kimi wins in the Ferrari, and Hamilton and Button get twatted on lap one. Couldn't have asked for better.
Brainy Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 Dont really understand why it's fun to see drivers twatted considering what happened in Hungary.
Asha Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 Dont really understand why it's fun to see drivers twatted considering what happened in Hungary. I never said fun, just as a disliker of Hamilton and Button, I was happy to see them miss out on points. In terms of the Hungary reference, Massa's injury was a fluke one. He was very unlucky and that kind of incident rarely happens in F1. Safe in the knowledge that both Hamilton and Button are ok, I feel able to see them retiring as being part of a good race for me.

Why the dislike towards them though? Just looking for justification
Asha Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 Why the dislike towards them though? Just looking for justification Well I support Ferrari, and have done since I was very small, and I think my dislike for Hamilton has carried over from when he was the main rival over at McLaren. I guess you sort of gain a dislike for a driver and it grows and continues even when they're not such a crucial rival. And with Button, I hope he continues to fail partly so the title race gets closer and more exciting, and partly because it annoyed me how everyone jumped on the bandwagon when a British driver starts to win. Same could be said for Hamilton actually.
Brainy Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 Its worth saying also that Raikkonen was lucky not to get penalised on the first lap. He went into the first corner in 4th place, made no attempt to stay on the track, moved up to 3rd, and had the momentum to then take 2nd at turn five. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport...one/8229457.stm
lildave3 Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 Fisichella joins Ferrari until the end of the season then... Must be frustrating for Force India, finally get some points then the driver gets nabbed
dandannieldanok Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 Fisichella joins Ferrari until the end of the season then...Must be frustrating for Force India, finally get some points then the driver gets nabbed To be honest before this weekend he wasn't doing much better than Sutil in a poor car, doubt he'll be missed too much. Force India need to make a competitive car before worrying about their drivers.
Asha Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 Fisichella joins Ferrari until the end of the season then...Must be frustrating for Force India, finally get some points then the driver gets nabbed Fantastic driver. Experienced, and unlike Badoer, competitive. Not really much to play for in the remainder of the season, except consolidating that 3rd place in the constructors.
StanSP Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 Fantastic driver.Experienced, and unlike Badoer, competitive. Not really much to play for in the remainder of the season, except consolidating that 3rd place in the constructors. How many races left?
Asha Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 How many races left? Five. Monza, Singapore, Suzuka, Interlagos and Abu Dhabi.
isaidno Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 I wouldn't say Fisichella is a fantastic driver but he's a lot better than Badoer. He only managed 2 wins in a championship winning Renault and was outclassed by Alonso. Liuzzi will probably get the Force India drive now.

Well that's one more than Kovalainen managed last year, in a championship winning car. He's been in the sport along time, mainly in weaker cars and definately deserves to get his dream drive for Ferrari, and of course with Monza the next circuit.

And dont forget Fisichella was in that Championship winning car for longer than Kovalainen.
Wycombe Fox Posted 4 September 2009 Posted 4 September 2009 Fisichella comes across as a nice chap but I've never really rated him as a driver. He did very well at Belgium though. I don't know what it is about him but he just seems to drive a car around a track almost unnoticed and completely devoid of excitement, from start to finish. I never really expect to see him 'sticking it up the inside'. Does that make sense? We've heard about his potential many times but this has never been fulfilled and I suspect these five drives in a Ferrari will be another false dawn. Stats-wise, his career reminds me of that of the 'mercurial' Jean Alesi, a very popular, highly-regarded driver but only had 1 win in 200 races. At least Jean Alesi could be exciting though.
