I thought it started at 6 <_< <_<

On BBC website at 14.48 it said 3 hours, 11 mins and 30 seconds left.

Not happy I missed all that.

Well done to Button , Had some awful cars with Honda over the years so glad he got a decent car this year.

Hoping for a Hamilton vs Alonso title race next year

Whats your reason JimmyMac

Button had an average car for years, not awful, but not great. So fair enough he was never gonna win a title in the Honda or BAR, but he never really competed either, but for one win in Hungary. Look at Hamilton this year and Alonso last year. Very average cars, yet still won two race in a season, (ok one of Alonsos was a fix but still), more than Jenson won in his whole career til this year. Now suddenly Jenson is a world class driver who was all knew would one day win the title. Bull! He's barely made a blip on the F1 landscape til this year. So world class driver I think not.

Also Ruebens could and should have had a couple of title a few years back had it not been for Schumacher and team orders. Old timer now, might not get many chances to get close again, especially now he's at Williams. Would have been nice to see him get what he probably should already have. Plus he seems such a top bloke.

Is it unpatriotic that I didn't want Button to do it.

I am pleased he won it but........

it all came down to that defuser. Picking up all those points earlier in the season before other teams adopted it. Yes it was proved to be legal in the end but I think the second half of the season showed where he really stood this season. Makes it a bit of a hollow championship this year because of it.

For all the nit picking of his achievement nobody did better than him did they?

Besides to me this is 'primarily' about who's got the best car and back up team, sure a top class driver can make the difference but if they haven't got the car or back up they won't win regularly no matter how good they are.

I'm going to have a little wager on him winning it again next year - in a McLaren.

Probably unlikely but I have a hunch that Button won't get offered a financial package commensurate with his position as World Champion at Brawn.

I can't understand claims that Button is an unworthy champion. He won fair and square against, first and foremost, his team-mate in the same car.

All down to the diffuser? Toyota and Williams both had a double diffuser in the first few races but they couldn't get close and Red Bull had a one-two in China before they had the double diffuser so it didn't hinder their challenge that much. Overall, Brawn had the better package 'straight out of the box'.

Button won it because of six wins in the first seven races? Is it Button's fault that the other teams didn't interpret the rules to their advantage? What difference does it make anyway? Had he won six out of the last seven races as opposed to the first seven, nobody would be doubting his worthiness.

Button has come along way since his karting days when he was the 'one to beat'. He has had to endure that dog of a Honda apart from 2004 when he finished third in the WDC behind Schumacher and Barrichello.

Great Britain has another World Driver's Champion - rejoice in it - not knock it.

Inevitable from the start.

I don't know why, I just didn't find this season as exciting as normal.

This season has been quite dull, despite their being different front runners than usual. How many times have we had a wheel to wheel battle for the lead ? , I can only think of Hungary & Belgium. Next season should be more exciting with 26 ( possibly 28 ) cars on the grid. The refuelling ban will hopefully encourage the drivers to overtake on the track instead of in the pits.

Makes Brawn's season even more impressive;

What is less well known, though, is that the car is, in the words of my source, "a botch job".

It was designed for a Honda engine, and it was not until December that the team knew they would be using a Mercedes. That necessitated some pretty crude changes.

"The chassis had the back six inches cut off to fit the engine in - the sort of thing you wouldn't normally do even with a test car," says my source. "And the gearbox was in the wrong place because the crank-centre height is different. There's a massive amount of compromise in the cars."

Those compromises introduced a significant performance deficit into the Brawn car, but it raced like that all year.

That is because the lead time on making a new chassis is several months, and at the time the team would have had to make the decision - in April - the car was dominating.

By the time it had dropped off the pace, and it was obvious the team needed the extra speed that would come with a bespoke chassis and improved weight distribution, it was too late to commission a new design.

Just as incredibly the team, tight on budget, made only three chassis all year - one for Button, one for Rubens Barrichello, and a spare - when a big-money outfit such as McLaren will typically make seven or eight.

That the Brawn was so quick in the circumstances is incredibly impressive.
