Asha Posted 25 July 2009 Posted 25 July 2009 He needs an emergency operation. Something to do with a cut to his head, brain concussion and bone damage. It's the kinda thing that will affect him for the rest of his driving career. Only consolation is that the next race is in four weeks. I have absolutely no idea how long it will take for him to recover.Luca Badoer & Marc Gene are the two reserves, neither will race tomorrow I dont think. Shiiiit. I didn't know that Hope he makes a full recovery. Felipe baby
Guppy Posted 25 July 2009 Posted 25 July 2009 Felipe is in a 'life threatening' condition following surgery on a skull fracture. Doesn't look good. Massa's Condition
isaidno Posted 25 July 2009 Posted 25 July 2009 Only just found out about this. Sky sports are saying he's in a coma in a life threatning condition I'm guessing the replacement driver will be Gene as the next round is in Spain.
Asha Posted 25 July 2009 Posted 25 July 2009 It's safe to say I'm fucking distraught about this. Hold tight Felipe
AjcW Posted 25 July 2009 Posted 25 July 2009 It's safe to say I'm fucking distraught about this.Hold tight Felipe God that you tube video is rather harrowing, as is your pic nsll... that wheel nut or whatever it was must of cracked through the helmet, horrible situation. Good luck Felipe.
maddog Posted 25 July 2009 Posted 25 July 2009 This is strange. First the F2 driver who was probably the most unluckiest person that ever lived somehow gets hit by that wheel, and now Massa will probably die too. What were the odds of that happening like it did, one in a billion at least.
AoWW Posted 25 July 2009 Posted 25 July 2009 Awful situation for Massa. Hope the operation and treatment goes ok and he makes a full recovery.
Ultra Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Awful situation for Massa. Hope the operation and treatment goes ok and he makes a full recovery. This.
SirBlueFoxington Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Alonso's wheel fell off, Hamilton takes 1st.
lildave3 Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Yeeeesss. That's more like it Mclaren. Now kick on from here.
Asha Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Great drive from Kimi. Fantastic 8 points on a difficult weekend for the team.
Ultra Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 With the resurgence of the old guard in Ferrari and McLaren, the remaining races of the season promise to be very competitive. Button's lead at the top of the table still looks commanding, though.
Jimmy Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Renault's punishment doesn't seem to ft the crime, think they are a victim of timing
acooling08 Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Now that is a shame Hope Button manages to find himself a drive still... Ohhh yes.
dandannieldanok Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Renault's punishment doesn't seem to ft the crime, think they are a victim of timing Agreed, if this had happened a few weeks ago then there would not have been such a strict punishment.
Ultra Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 they'll appeal and it'll be overturned Absolutely. There's no way Alonso will be barred from racing in front of his home fans.
lildave3 Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Yeah the suspension is way too harsh. Ohhh yes. What?!
Brainy Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Renault definately should be punished, suspension might be a bit too far though. The FIA can't just go back on their decision because the next race is Alonso's home race, although if the suspension stands I dare say the grandstands will be empty.

They've still got Alguersuari to support. And potentially Gene.
Brainy Posted 26 July 2009 Posted 26 July 2009 Alguersuari It is pretty funny. I read today that Alonso and Piquet cannot drive for Renault that weekend. Renault are suspended, not the drivers. Alonso to Ferrari for Valencia?
