Sacked by Wigan too unsurprisingly.

This has to be the best quote

"King was celebrating two occasions - his wife's latest pregnancy and the scoring of a winning goal - with a night out in the West End"

Sad thing is you just know someone will sign him as soon as he gets out. Probably a Premiership or Championship side too.

Nothing wrong with that once hes done his time.

As soon as he got out would be in bad taste though. Needs a spell in the wilderness to really teach him a lesson, seeing as he'd be unlucky to serve half of the sentence passed down.

Lee Hughes up front to finish it off. They'd be used to the black and white stripes at least.

Good luck to their team-mates in the shower......

That's quite true but I hope Wigan take him to court to try and get some of the £3 million transfer fee they paid watford for him.

Do you think insurance would cover for something like this? Like when theyre injured? Interesting point of all this though.. the cost to the club.

You'd have thought so really. Hardly the fault of the club that they've employed a thug, can imagine the insurance company doing all they can to worm their way out of it though.

I suppose it'd be a little like the Adrian Mutu case. I doubt the insurers would pay up.

what sort of a person must he be?

sexual assault is one thing, to then break the young ladies nose is just incredible.....

but whilst out supposedly celebrating his WIFE'S pregnancy is just completly repulsive

and i dont believe all that crap about 'once he has done his time'

If someone here was stupid enough to offer him a contract upon completion of his prison sentence, there there is no way i would ever pay to watch a city game again until he had left- my money will NOT be paying his wages. no matter what punishment he receives for how he treated that woman He has abused his position as a footballer as well so should not be blessed with that Job again. Footballers have a responsibility to be role models and act with integrity and whilst people make mistakes and that should be taken into account Sexual assault breaking a woman's nose WHILST CELEBRATING YOUR WIFE'S PREGNANCY totally oversteps the mark for me.

I thought I read that he'd been in prison before?

From Wiki before he signed for Wigan in Jan 2008.

His career was nearly derailed in 2002 when he was given an eighteen month prison sentence for handling a stolen car. After an appeal, the sentence was reduced to five months and King returned to Gillingham's team within two days of his release.

Whilst under contract at Wigan

King's time at Hull City was beset with controversy. On 12 November 2008, he was involved in a fracas with teammate Dean Windass in a casino in Scarborough. King was alleged to have headbutted Windass following an argument. Hull City stated that the matter had been dealt with internally, and both players remained with the club.[9] Windass later described the incident as a "storm in a teacup".

On 5 December 2008, King was banned from driving for 56 days after being caught speeding at 106 miles per hour on a stretch of road with a speed limit of 60mph.

Didn't realise all that lot!

In that case, Wigan actually have only themselves to blame for this. Same goes for any other club daft enough to take him on after he's left prison.

The c.unt is allegedly on £35k a week.

£35k a week for Marlon King???

Some professional footballers really are the lowest forms of life.
