Daggers Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 For two games they have declared themselves pleased with having played attractive, exciting football - what price they come here and lock up shop (producing a dire-fest into the process)?
Fosse Boy Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 Can't make this, bloody family gatherings. Still, I got excused from one on Saturday to go to the Peterborough game so karmic realignment was bound to hit me at some point.

maddog Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 This game is about as exciting as double Maths. I can see a lot of empty seats in the Kop again, like every game apart from P'Boro.

Fox You Forest Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 The late goal against Leeds could provide some sort of backlash, Although i doubt it and will go for a tight 2-0.
Big Bad Fox Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 they're actually admitting before the game that there might be a difference in class.. seeing as we are top and they're second from bottom nice to know our teams work doesn't go unappreciated
lavrentis Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 This game is about as exciting as double Maths.I can see a lot of empty seats in the Kop again, like every game apart from P'Boro. So, I'm going there to support my team.
Tilley Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 I think we are in for a big win again. Although, maybe Hereford will come & do what Crewe & Yeovil did. But, I think after the late equaliser at Leeds, the players are going to react positively & hammer them. We're getting three points tomorrow.
Jimmy Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 if we get an early goal it will be a comfortable victory and probably just a case of how many we can get
Daggers Posted 27 December 2008 Author Posted 27 December 2008 I think we are in for a big win again. So many times this season we've expected this but have been found wanting when it comes to unlocking stout defences. I really can't see them coming and attacking, they'll sit back defending in numbers looking for a counter - they'd be absolutely mad to do otherwise because we'd rip them to shreds. Consequently, to me it looks like a match for people who love being drunk and/or queuing for balti pies. Which would be me then.
Joe. Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 Technically we should win this one comfortably, but I'm not sure whether that last minute goal yesterday will have an effect on the team or not. An early goal would set us on the way to victory I think, it's just a case of settling down early and playing how we normally do and we'll be absolutely fine. I'm hoping that Dyer can pick himself up a bit after his recent form too. Tomorrow's game is a perfect opportunity for him to rip somebody to pieces.
Webbo Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 BBC Leicester v HerefordLeague leaders Leicester have no new selection problems but Nigel Pearson may make changes to rest players. Michael Morrision, Chris Powell, Joe Mattock and Nicky Adams are among those who could be in line for a recall.
Tilley Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 Won't make a new thread, but I'd like the team to be.. Martin Gilbert Tunchev Morrison PowellOakley King Davies DyerFryatt Howard Subs: Cisak, Hobbs, Berner, Gradel & DJ.

Maybe we all just love double maths more than you? Big Demand For Hereford ClashLeicester City supporters yet to secure their tickets for Sunday's League One clash against Hereford United are advised to so at the earliest possible opportunity. Fans were queuing out of the doors at the Walkers Stadium ticket office on Saturday morning - with over 1,000 seats sold for the game in the first three hours of business. And with no signs of that demand falling the club are gearing itself up for a busy 24-hour period. Tickets will be available right up until kick-off at 3pm on the day of the game - although supporters are encouraged to arrive at the earliest possible opportunity to avoid the inevitable congestion. A City spokesman said: "Demand for this game has been incredible. We have had queues all day today and we expect it to be even busier on Sunday. "The ticket office will be open from 10am and we are advising everyone to arrive at the earliest possible time to assist us to keep waiting times to an absolute minimum. Both sub ticket offices, positioned in the South West and South East corners, will also be open from 1.30pm." City fans are reminded that the group discount offers, giving a 40% saving on selected tickets for groups of 10 or more, or 20% off for groups of 5 or more, are only available until midday on Sunday.
Thracian Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 Won't make a new thread, but I'd like the team to be.. Martin Gilbert Tunchev Morrison PowellOakley King Davies DyerFryatt Howard Subs: Cisak, Hobbs, Berner, Gradel & DJ. In theory this is exactly the sort of game where we should be making changes and using the depth of our squad to advantage but it is hard to see it because Pearson doesn't seem to show much faith in anyone but his Chosen Men. Gradel could be forgiven for being rusty as the rivets in the sunken Titanic, Adams is so much yesterday's man he might as well have lost the "s" in his name and be the Adam referred to in the Bible. Dyer's been finding it as hard to cope with close marking as Gradel earlier but he seems to be cut far more slack. Dickov and DJ would probably find a reserves game exciting they've seen so little of a football and yet I read people saying how Fryatt and Howard were tiring towards the end yesterday. For me we've not got nearly enough faith in the squad and reference to everyone having their part to play is just that - referencial rhetoric which is very rarely followed through. Anyway, my choice tomorrow would be: Henderson; Gilbert, Hobbs, Morrison, Mattock; Gradel, King, Davies, Dyer; Dickov, Howard. Subs: Berner, Porter, DJ, Fryatt, Oakley. Tunchev would be out because he seemed to take a knock yesterday and, coming on top of his recent injury, I wouldn't want to risk him having to make a fast recovery for tomorrow. I'd get those full-backs up in support and try to break Hereford with pace, numbers and movement. Cos they will doubtless be feeling the Christmas programme too and I'd bet a £ to a penny they won't have the pacey wingers in reserve that we do.

Doubt Oakley will be dropped mate he's the captain (y) but mine would be: GK:Martin RB:Gilbert CB:Morrison CB:Tunchev LB:Mattock RM:Oakley© CM:King CM:Davies LM:Dyer ST:Howard ST:Fryatt subs: Cisak,Berner,Adams,Hobbs,Dickov I think he'll few especially Hobbs and give Morrison a chance,I think Tunch will be ok as hes tough.
Joe. Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 Oakley's been one of our best players of late, there's no chance I'd want to see him omitted from the first eleven. However, I don't think Thracian was suggesting Oakley should be dropped, just rested.

It's not a case of "dropping" Oakley or anyone else. It is a case of genuinely resting them and keeping everyone sharp and up to scratch. Howard's a perfectly good alternative captain. As for Tunchev, why take the chance? There's an opportunity tomorrow to keep Morrison sharp and involved while giving Tunchev proper chance to recover. But if you're saying Morrison's not good enough - or anyone else in the squad - then why keep em? Why not get rid and get people who are good enough? On the one hand people talk about needing a deep squad on the other hand they urge us to play the same people in every match. I just don't understand it. If you're going to do the latter you might as well have a squad of about 22 tops. Not 34.

RowlattsFox Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 Not really got a good feeling about this, we know what Hereford are going to do, the question is will we break them down? We've won 7 home games in a row in all competitions, maybe I'm just expecting us to have a bad day eventually. I'd go for the same team, hopefully get the job done pretty quickly and then rest some players. I think Gilbert and Berner could be important tomorrow, I don't imagine they'll be doing too much defending so they need to be the extra men going forward.
