Top 50 Most Atmospheric Stadiums In Football

RE: Millenium Stadium & football, I doubt it's there for Wales' home games. I imagine it's been put up with the FA Cup in mind.

Millenium Stadium is brilliant! Been there to watch Rugby and to watch football there and both were unreal experiences. Would say watching Rugby there was better than football was Tigers v Wasps and Scarlets v Bath I think in the EDF Cup some great noise made. The football was well up there watched Liverpool v Birmingham in the Worthington Cup Final in 01 didnt really know about atmospheres in them days but the Liverpool and Brum fans were loud.

One of the best Stadiums I have been to I would say, just because of the location of the stadium and there is everything for a fan all around the stadium.

seeing as the poll is balls, here is a clip from a norwegian game... this is from the away end, and painful as they are equalising against vålerenga

this is at ulleval, which is a little smaller than the walkers...

so post your best 'atmospheric' clips...

Atmosphere = Chelsea Dagger and don't anyone deny it - Come on you Foxes.

At least Stoke didn't make it. They're like the new portsmouth = the johnny come lately's of self-conscious tub thumping.

The last time Hillsborough was rocking was the 97 league cup final. It was mostly dire even when they were last in the premiership.

Even the facts listed bellow the pictures are rubbish.

The Toon army aren't housed in the Gallowgate end, its the Leazes corner! And Old Trafford isn't Englands biggest stadium.

The Nou Camp is ****ing woefull as well, quieter than the walkers for most games.

The Gallowgate was the home end until about the '80s, I think? The old trafford thing, surely they're just forgetting to put the word "club" in there and merely having dreadful proof reading? Still, its a Daily Mail article for crying out loud, its never going to be of any real accuracy or rate anything done by them foreigners as better.

As for Wales homes games, the '04 playoff sounded decent on the telly - probably because the place was full rather than two-thirds empty like all the football I've seen there.

I knew Anfield would get number 1 but that is only on European match days.

When the kop is in full flow it's pretty magical to be honest but far to much of standard league games are spent in the quiet. When I went earlier in the season it was just like being at the walkers with the Kop being fairly quiet apart from a bunch of about 400 near the back who sang during the whole game

Quality atmospheres in Germany theyve really made an effort with there new stadiums to make them atmosphere friendly

Personally don't think you can beat the Italian ultras for the pure displays they put on

Italians are good when their in full swing, shame they ruined it and now the authorities are even worse than over here.

Well, be fair - they had to do something, as they did have a genuine problem on their hands, which police here generally don't.

Where's Gay Meadow on the list!!!

And from someone from Bristol, having Ashton Gate at number 33 is laughable - it's full of Bristolian Chav types thinking there hard because they're doing the V's to the away fans from the opposite end of the pitch, and older fans that tend to moan quite a bit. (Although true, I haven't been in the home end for quite some time.)

Disagree. It's clearly not the 33rd best in the world, but the atmosphere down there is pretty fooking good by modern British standards and pisses all over a lot of grounds higher than it in the list.

i wouldn't put gay meadow there, it was pretty silent for our play off game there and the only thing that got them going was when a group of 15 year olds invaded the pitch to leg it towards us and this was on the big occasion of their last game there

i must say, valley parade was very good when we were there, cauldron of noise type thing, last home game of the season and a good 1,500 away fans aswell who didn't stop

The guide clearly based it on either derby games, trips to Wembley / Cardiff, and FA Cup games hence why Bristol Rovers just pipped City in the list.

Realistically, both sides atmosphere's for standard games are no better or worse with a lot of sides.

Have you been to Ashton Gate this season? The lads in the east end are making some cracking noise.
