Peter File Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Sorry for the appalling thread but I wanted to get the advice of all the forum romeos. I wanted to know where the best places are to take women in Leicester? I want to do something different from the usual night out, dozen pints, her carrying me home etc etc I booked some tickets for the *sigh* theatre today. This is how far I've sunk. I am sure a musical version of cindarella will be fun, really, but need a few decent ideas for future. Something more cultural or different would be nice. Any help would be appreciated
Fosse Boy Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 But seriously, I don't live in Leicester so don't know. I'm well aware of all of Harborough's hotspots though.
Peter File Posted 2 January 2009 Author Posted 2 January 2009 Do I spy an IT Crowd reference? Yeah, good spot Sadly 'Gay: The Gay Musical' wasn't in town so I went for the next best thing.

DB11 Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 I'm sure there's some good stuff now the Highcross has been built?
Ultra Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Yes, that's why I suggested Cinema de Lux. There are some decent pubs, bars and restaurants around there.

Finnegan Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 I work in the High Cross. It's toss. You shouldn't really buy into the hype, it's just the Shires with flashier signs. 'tis a lot busier now, though.

Guest Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Me and Stez were going to come and say hello to you the other day but we bottled it. We couldn't even get into the store to try to say hello to him in the first place!!

'tis a lot busier now, though. I've been asking people what they buy there? And at least a dozen have said "nothing". They go there and to other City centre stores to keep warm because it's so expensive to run the heating at home. PS to Lisa: this is not a wind up.
Finnegan Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Me and Stez were going to come and say hello to you the other day but we bottled it. Haha. My contract ends at the end of this next week, so unless I'm offered a new one I'm out of there anyway! We couldn't even get into the store to try to say hello to him in the first place!! Tell me about it. You might have seen me getting frustrated with antsy customers who'd been queuing for about an hour only to be told what they want has an out of stock sticker on it because it is out of stock, though. \o/ I've been asking people what they buy there? PS to Lisa: this is not a wind up. wouldn't surprise me. It's like a sauna in there and chocabloc with people. Some nice (if pricey) eats, though. In fact that's basically the best thing about it.

Daggers Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 That noodle place was brilliant - and so amazingly cheap too (I think I owe people a bit of money!)
Ultra Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 That noodle place was brilliant - and so amazingly cheap too (I think I owe people a bit of money!) The Noodle Bar was excellent, though I didn't care much for the Chinese beer. As for the money issue, you'll have to speak to Lisa and Sir Fynwy about that..
The People's Hero Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 That noodle place was brilliant - and so amazingly cheap too (I think I owe people a bit of money!) I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think anyone minded chucking in a tenner for good food and a bottle of beer anyway, besides, these things tend to work themselves out in the end.
Lillehamring Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Yeah, good spot Sadly 'Gay: The Gay Musical' wasn't in town so I went for the next best thing. i think i can out gay you though - i've just been offered, thru work, a free ticket for 'Disney on Ice: Princess Classics' on the plus side, it does mean a lot of athletic woman in short skirts, but then again...athletic men in short skirts

As honoured visitors to Leicester, you and Daggers deserved to be treated.
