RowlattsFox Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 Selby should have won this already, thrown away atleast 3 frames he should have won.
Shrenchel Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Brilliant match. Quite ironic that Ronnie calls snooker nowadays boring and then a few days later makes up half of this cracker. Selby's missus is pretty tidy.
purpleronnie Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Jeez Selby must be pissed what an opportunity to defend his title. Rocket is a genius even with a new cue.
Darkzzz_ Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Great match. Gutted for Selby but O'Sullivan is a genius.
Thracian Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 I love snooker, play two or three times a week and this game was riveting. You could by Selby's expressions that he could barely believe he'd thrown so many chances away, sometimes when all the hard work seemed to have been done. Even my missus watched, it was that good!
Uncle Albert Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Brilliant final contested by the two best players in the game at the minute. That blue Selby missed was a killer and when he took the brown on when the yellow was in a more suitable position. Ah well, Mark shown last night why he is up there with the best in the game and Ronnie again shown us all why he is the best in the game. Winning The Masters with a cue he has never used in his career is unreal. Excellent final.
stez Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Selby should have won this already, thrown away atleast 3 frames he should have won. i knew it was over when he missed the blue in the frame RRO'S went on to win by 1 point (to go 9-8 up?). i should've gone to sleep after that, but like a tit i stayed awake and paid for it at work today!
dandannieldanok Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 To be totally honest I didn't think the actual quality of snooker was particularly great, and neither player reached the high standards they have done in the past 6-12 months. However that doesn't mean it wasn't a great match with some really tense tactical frames with unpredictable outcomes. Shame Mark couldn't hold his nerve and be more clinical nearer the end of some of the frames, it'll come though and then he'll become an even more formidable opponent.

Standard of snooker wasnt particularly great? Did you fail to see the amount of high breaks hit in the evening session? Jeez!
