Monk Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 This is not a rant, but quite a few people on here seem to struggle; feel free to add to the list. In fairness it's not as bad as it used to be. At least the text speak has died down. Lesson #1 Your - You're Your - belonging to you (your house) You're - you are (you're an idiot) Lesson #2 Its - It's It's - it is / it has (it's a nice day) Its - belonging to it (its fate was sealed when the giraffe kicked out) Lesson #3 There, Their & They're There - in reference to a place (shall we go there?) Their - belonging to them (their (Leeds) final ball was awful) They're - they are (They're coming around to correct your grammar!) Lesson #4 Lose and Loose (this really annoys me) Lose - to fail at, or to be unable to find. (Ann would always lose her keys) Loose - not tight or fixed in place. (The railings were really loose, a danger to everyone) Will this thread make a difference? Hell no.
