FleckneyFox Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Gone on loan to Yeovil for 1 month http://www.ytfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...1528024,00.html
Stevosevic Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Good standard for him to go into considering he hasn't played a match for us yet.
J.Lisemore Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Good move for him as Yeovil are in our league. Hope he gets some first team action.
JoeyB Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Nice ground and decent fans and they need a good RB. Good luck to the lad.
Milky Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 "Cox was showing the class that had seen him rise up through the ranks at Leicester" Just played for their reserves
Granno Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 A good move for him, at least he's gone to a decent level of football and not some non league team. I reckon he may still have a chance of being a first team player if he knuckles down.
Bryn Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Surely even Thracian can't complain about this one?
Cobbo Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 If it's to replace their number 12, definately a great move for Yeovil.
Thracian Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Just played for their reserves The sooner he's in the first team the better. He's doesn't need to convince anyone he's good enough for the Reserves. If Lee stays dedicated and works his socks off to keep improving and stay sharp, he'll make a damn good full-back. Yes, he can play in midfield but I'd doubt that's where he'd sustain a place in Division One or the Championship because, while he's as combative as they come, he's not especially quick and he's not a silky skills player. But, he can mark, he can tackle, he's not phased by the big occasion, he can pass the ball quickly, simply, accurately and he has a pretty good engine.

I'll let you know how he fairs (assuming he'll go straight into the squad), as I'll be at the next Huish Park game against Huddersfield: Tues night I believe
Steven Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Just played for their reserves ... and it seems he was pretty good as well. http://www.ytfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...1528154,00.html
Edmund Posted 21 January 2009 Posted 21 January 2009 Is this like one of those moments you send a box of chocolates to say sorry. Instead lets send a player on loan to you for the dodgy ref decision. With complements Nige.
Ultra Posted 22 January 2009 Posted 22 January 2009 As Pearson observed on the night, a few decisions went against us - like the false offside flag against Howard in the first half, and the failure to spot a defender punching away an Oakley cross. Having seen the "corner" incident on TV a few times, I reckon the ref might have got that right.

It did hit both players but it definitely came off Morrison last, got more of the ball. Not a big deal really refs are only human at the end of the day and im obviously pleased it went in our favour.
davieG Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Manager Russell Slade has given his thoughts on the new loan signing of Leicester City midfielder Lee Cox. The 18 year old signed up for a month on Wednesday, with the Foxes paying his full wages during that period. Russell told BBC Somerset that the deal came out of a conversation that he had with Foxes boss Nigel Pearson after Monday night's home match, and that Leicester recognised that the Glovers were running on a small squad. Russell explained how the deal to sign Cox came about: "He's a young fellow, and I spoke to Nigel Pearson who I know, and to Steve Welsh after the game. They are letting me have him really. He's a squaddie, and he (Nigel Pearson) knows we've not got too many bodies, and he has kindly let us have him. He's a tough-tackling little player, with good energy. He wants to get on the ball, wants to pass, wants to move. He's a good little type and it will be interesting to see how he develops over the month, but he is not there to go straight in the team - that's for sure." Slade admitted though, that Cox is very likely to land on the bench for tomorrow's match at Roots Hall against Southend United - no great surprise given that the Glovers still only have 15 senior players available for tomorrow's match. Cox seems likely to displace Jordan Street from the bench. Russell added that the search is continuing for more players before the transfer window shuts, although the fact that the Glovers appear to be looking for short term loans suggests that the end of month deadline need not be quite so significant: "Obviously we are trying to see if we can bring in maybe one or two short term loans. A striker remains the priority, and possibly we want a defender, or a defensive midfielder who could fill both roles. But we'd have to wait and see as there are not too many out there."
Big Ol' Bob Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Shows the depth of our squad if players that haven't even appeared for us this season are forcing their way into teams such as Yeovil. Might as well let him stay at Yeovil till the end of the season, loads of first team experience and will come back a better player.
Yeovil mad Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 good deal for yeovil as you are paying his wages .good luck this season i think you will win the league this season this is taken from our local paper Yesterday Slade snapped up 18-year-old Leicester City midfielder Lee Cox, also on loan, for a month. But the youngster will not exactly blow a hole in the Huish Park finances. It is understood Yeovil have effectively been allowed to sign Cox without paying a loan fee, while the Foxes will continue to pay all his wages. Cox played in midfield in Wednesday's 3-2 reserve-team defeat to Bournemouth at Huish Park. Slade said: "He works exceptionally hard and is a real grafter. This is an opportunity for him and it gives us some extra strength in depth." Cox helps fill a hole in midfield created when Gary Roberts suffered an ankle ligament injury in Monday's 2-0 defeat to Leicester. Initial reports suggested four to six weeks on the sidelines for the former Crewe man, but he is back walking and now may only miss three to four weeks.
JoeyB Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Well hopefully it will benefit both clubs - Leicester because it will give coxy some FTE and yeovil will help to give decent back up too.
Big Ol' Bob Posted 24 January 2009 Posted 24 January 2009 Was an unused substitute for Yeovil today aginst Southend.
Thracian Posted 25 January 2009 Posted 25 January 2009 Was an unused substitute for Yeovil today aginst Southend. That's a lot of use to him. Sounds like another of our young players who is essentially treading water and could do with going somewhere he'll get some games
Webbo Posted 25 January 2009 Posted 25 January 2009 That's a lot of use to him. Sounds like another of our young players who is essentially treading water and could do with going somewhere he'll get some games At least he's getting games for Yeovil reserves which is more than he's getting here. You have to ask yourself though if he can't get into Yeovil's first team is he ready yet.

You have to ask yourself though if he can't get into Yeovil's first team is he ready yet. Her's have a lot more chance of becoming "ready" if he was playing regularly. If I were a manager I would NEVER want players of 17-22 not getting regular purposeful games. Even now, just look a our squad. Thirty-three players. How ridiculous is that? With no reserve team I'd want 26 tops. And I doubt that more that three would be over 32.

You have to ask yourself though if he can't get into Yeovil's first team is he ready yet. I hope the right back who played instead of him yesterday wasn't the one who played against us i.e. the one who sliced 2 free kicks straight out of play and took a throw in that went in and then out. If he can't displace him then something is eriously wrong.
