Of course not, but the site delivers. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Like I said the only annoying thing is the advertising and the world page but every club has got the same thing. It's just the way things are with football. If anything it's the people who maintain the site which should be to blame if the injuries are not updated and player profiles not updated and this whole shirt fiasco. Injury updates aren't usually put up due to tactical mind games. Do we want to tell the opposition are main man is out when they are probably planning on how to cope with him. When we sign a player we always find out first on there? (accept knowitall) :)

If people had good reasons why the site is shite other than a few mistakes down to human error then it would be plausible. Just seems like another moan at the club when there are more important things to worry about. I.e were top of the table. Lets be positive unless people would rather be negative and complain over something so petty and pathetic without just cause.

Precisely what does the site deliver? It's shoddy.

And being top of the League you'd think we'd be promoting ourselves with a lot more vigour.

As for the reasons I've had to give that some thought because it's so bad that I hardly ever use it any more.

And having now noted a long list of reasons, I don't actually want to give details because, like you, I'd much rather be positive and keep saying good things about people like Pearson, the team, even Mandaric himself after the stick I've given him in the past.

So I'll leave you and the club to think it through for yourselves. Because, as an ex-journo, it is in bad taste to be publicly critical of your own and, with rare exceptions, I don't have any desire to do that anyway. We've all been less than brilliant in our time.

But a better service could start perhaps with a simple note on a piece of paper....10 things we could do to improve our OS.

I do web development for a living and know that a few simple things would make such a difference - RSS Feed anyone? Perhaps I should sort my CV out....

Well the latest example would be the Cox to Yeovil loan, announced on the Yeovil site before our OS, when he's our player.

Surely if a cash strapped club like Yeovil using Premium TV like LCFC can make the announcement before us then there's something wrong with our OS.

It's got nothing to do with how the team is performing, if you go to a shop that is selling quality goods but you can't find the prices or staff to ask then they are not providing a complete service. As always with football we have no choice we can't go elsewhere be it poor displays on the pitch or crap customer service in general, but I don't see why we should quietly accept the situation.

Personally I don't but i'd appreciate getting the latest 'news' from the OS in my Google Reader like many other media outlets.....

Don't think i was having a go by the way - it was a general enquiry!

An RSS icon looks like this

They are XML feeds you can link up to deliver you content without accessing the main source - people use them for things like news headlines, etc...

No worries HL  The topic of the OS makes me angry sometimes  !

But the site does NOT deliver.

Look how often stories break on here, days or even weeks before the OS acknowledges them. The date switch for the Scunny game was a classic example.

The site will also be used to promote bland non-stories instead of information that fans really care about. There may indeed be cases where the club may wish to keep injuries quiet. However, torn cruciate ligaments tend to be rather difficult to conceal.

To many supporters, the site is the face of the club. So to see it needlessly disfigured on a regular basis causes genuine distress.

Again it's not the site itself it's the people running the site. I think we may be getting wires crossed here. Are people annoyed at the staff who update the site or the layout of the site. I for one like the site and find it easy to navigate around. If it's not updated surely thats down to the people who update it. Maybe you should complain to them directly and get them to step there game up. Also your one example is outweighed by the numerous articles which get posted daily.

Exactly instead of people nit picking why not actually state what and why they want to improve it.

How do you know he wasn't on trial there first which it sounded like he was as he played in a reserves game. They obviouly put it up instantly as they found out.

Situation? Come on it's not life and death. No prices at a shop is no comparision in my honest opinion.

What difference does it make if he was on trial there first, the fact is the loan was announced on the Yeovil site before us, this is just one of many, many instances where they are late or fail to announce information.

As for the prices at shop example, many a time I've emailed the ticket office re prices because the website doesn't always make it clear and they completely ignore the question and send me a link to the website.

You can defend them all you like but I know from experience that the OS is very lax at providing accurate, timely upto date information.

Yea people, c'mon - it's not like we're living with Aids in Gaza while being attacked by dogs.

Really, when will you all stop having an negative opinion about something? We are top of the league, Milan is giving us a great new strip and we still have Davies for nine more days.

Sheeeesh!

Thats fair enough but I think it's more of a case of the staff who work there who seem to be the real issue and need to buck up. They would be better of with hiring foxestalk mods to do the updating or a Leicester fan. For all we know it could be some I.T grad straight out of uni doing updates when he or she pleases and also amusing himself by playing quake 3 and pornhub on companies time and doesn't give a fook about football.

The Club's marketing team .... But they have 6 years to run on a contract with the current vendors so don't expect much to change!

Would that be the same clued-up marketing team who gave us and the world the options of Forever Foxes and Blue Army on the shirt?

It's their staff, they employ them either directly or indirectly, that's not a justifiable reason for poor delivery of services. Which ever way you look at it they, that is they club Owners/Directors are responsible.

I have had some experiance in web developing. I know that many people find problems with sites (Which is fair enough and expected, nothing can be perfect. Especially in todays world of high expectations from the internet.)

Can i suggest that this site comes up with a list of names that have a problem with the site. Then choose say 10 prioritised things you would like the site to improve on. Its all well and good complainijng but the updater's or developers of the site whatever they may be called. Will not be aware of problems that you as fans have if they are not told.

So compile your list of ten, compile your list of names and then email the one the only Peter Jones and ask him who you would need to get in contact with about the maitenance of the club website.

He should be able to supply you with a Website Manager who should be able to help you with your enquiries.

Premium TV give the club a software package that allows the club to just input data and click upload. The software then compiles the information and turns it into the page in which we see. Hense why there are often problems with the photo's that are uploaded as the software provided struggles to compile for all Web Browsers. (This is what im told anyway.)

I dont work for the OS no.

I just have experiance of working next to seasoned professionals of web developement and they LOVE feedback. They know as well as you do that their work is not perfect, but most work with a passion and strive to give the end user (in this case fans of LCFC) a good service.

At the end of the day to work on websites all day everyday you have to be pretty passionate about what you are doing. You have to get a kick out of it, and there is nothing better as a Website creator then to get positive feedback after you have fixed a problem that someone has addressed to you.

anyways hopefully this will give you a more constructive view of how to go about solving your problems. I shall be off now.

Im glad someone came into this thread with with sense, im not one of these with problems with the os. I hope people stand up and take note instead of jumping on this silly bandwagon without even approaching the club.
