Ultra Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 I thought they had no money and were going bust? Anyway, nice to know he's still alive..
J.Lisemore Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 I thought they had no money and were going bust? Anyway, nice to know he's still alive.. Maybe City are paying 100% of his wages
Brainy Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 I thought they had no money and were going bust? Anyway, nice to know he's still alive.. Like Lisemore says we're probably paying his wages. Probably a little return gift for taking Aman Verma away from them.
Thracian Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Forgotten man really. On his way to obscurity no doubt, though you never know. Ironic that someone like Laczko should wear the first team shirt several times and a kid who constantly showed himself to be better, both as a maker and scorer of goals, never got a look in. You do wonder why sometimes. Sadly though Beswick was another of our young crop who seemed to be forever injured. I don't know about all the scientific input, the monitoring and the dietary advice they get but I sometimes wonder if regular stints at a military training camp or a boxing club would make em more durable. Or perhaps the injuries are simply a consequence of the increased pace of modern football, who knows? Whatever, to see players on crutches for lengthy periods is a familiar sight at City. Kisnorbo, Tunchev (soon), Chambers, Kee, Vassey, Beswick, Chambers (again), Wesolowski, Porter come to mind with others who have also been out for long or longish periods include Fryatt, Clemence, Dickov, Mattock, N'Gotty, Chambers, Henderson and Campbell.
wallisjamblats Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 reports from redditch suggest that young beswick has had a great spell there, scored 6 or 7 goals, been injury free, made plenty of goals and was instrumental in dragging redditch out of the relegation zone and into a comfortable mid table position.... a few teams been watching him as well......maybe we'll regret not giving him a chance!!
Hullfox Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Forgotten man really. It is blatantly obvious that you do not read much of what you write but in the spirit of generosity I'll point out to you that B) may in fact be your answer to A).

Yeah he's scored some cracking goals.
Bert Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Forgotten man really. On his way to obscurity no doubt, though you never know. How was he ever forgotten? Don't you need to be majorly involved to be forgotten first?
AmericanScott Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Is he coming back to us or what? I don't think the kid would hack in the CCC. Send him on loan to a league club and see what he does there. Zsolt Best player we've had in recent years IMO. I'll never forget when we met him.
Babylon Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 How was he ever forgotten? Don't you need to be majorly involved to be forgotten first? He was involved... in Thracians fantasy dream team.
Samilktray Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Him and Lathaniel Rowe-Turner have both done well there from reading there match reports. Was meant to be going to a game, but never materialised.
Babylon Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Was meant to be going to a game, but never materialised. Part timer!!!!

Samilktray Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 How the hell can you their read match reports? They only update their OS once every coupla months. Well I read them, and a couple mentioned both players.
FoxesFan123 Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 When Martin Allen was here, he was tipped to be competing for the left-back slot with Mattock. OK, Allen's judgement of players isn't great (see Kaebi, Cort, Hellings...etc), but Beswick did show some real promise and potential, and he's done well at Redditch, albeit much lower in the leagues. I like the idea of him being out on loan to a league 2, or maybe even league 1 side next season. I'm sure by "forgotten man", Thracian refers to how alot of people were calling for Beswick to be STARTING at left-back at the start of last season.
Babylon Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I'm sure by "forgotten man", Thracian refers to how alot of people were calling for Beswick to be STARTING at left-back at the start of last season. The ONLY person calling for Beswick to start was Thracian.
iancognito Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 He was so promising and so needed that we didn't even bother cutting short his loan spell when we needed a left back and instead signed a living legend in Chrissy Powell. How good can the match reports have been?
Samilktray Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Why are people so quick to put down our youngsters on here? Imagine if some of them read some of the stuff on here, there confidence would take a right beating. Its a joke.

Thracian Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Why are people so quick to put down our youngsters on here?Imagine if some of them read some of the stuff on here, there confidence would take a right beating. Its a joke. You get used to it over the years. It was embarrassing to see how much more inmfluential Beswick was than Laczko when he played for the reserves but he seemed to have two permanent problems.... One was staying fit consistently enough to make his case more firmly. The other was the club's apparent preference for every other option they had, apart from Beswick. Again, his injuries might have influenced that. Managers hate players being injured and therefore unavailable to be part of their plans. I'm sure it hasn't helped Wesolowski either. Or Psssh though many of us believe thre's more to that one. It doesn't matter now. I just hope he stays injury free and realises his undoubted potential as an always-creative wide left-sider. It was never going to happen for him here for various reasons.
Koke Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 There are no allegedly prejudice against our youngsters, otherwise if that was the case we would not see King, Mattock and Gradel cement their spot in the first 11. If you're good enough, you'll make it. King is good enough and has ranked up more appearances than anyone. He's got nearly 70 appearances for the club.
