Birdy Posted 26 January 2009 Posted 26 January 2009 Janx was one of my closet and dearest friends and I miss him terribly. I keep in touch with his wife, and can tell you Sarah and Charlie are well and doing ok. Sarah makes sure Charlie stays a Leicester fan too by bringing him to a few games a season :-) I'll pass on all your love and good wishes.
Ric Flair Posted 27 January 2009 Posted 27 January 2009 Probably one of the funniest posts on here ever, he really was a character. I cannot believe it's been 2 years, I never met the man but I wish I had. He was a salt of the earth from what I knew of him. R.I.P. big man.
Thracian Posted 27 January 2009 Posted 27 January 2009 Never knowingly met him, only ever argued with him on here. Pity I can't argue with him some more. From everything people say it is hard to imagine anyone being more missed than Janx. I have chewed the cud with Lise over drink driving on many occasions and only recently realised that her strongly held views are, in quite some part, due to the passing of Janx. Somehow that fact affected me to the point where I now drink very little now, on match days or otherwise, two pints or often less, always with food, and long before I drive home. It's a small but practical way of paying respects. I quite often think of the guy and the consequences of that fateful night when I'm sat in the Swan. And it's a strange thing thinking about someone you didn't know other than through the anonymity of a football forum. RIP fella.
fox123 Posted 27 January 2009 Posted 27 January 2009 I was fairly new to the forum when this happened, but I remember the post from Mrs Janx well, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. I remember that it touched the hearts and saddened a lot of people on this forum, and not having spoke too or met Janx it just shows, by the posts in that thread and this, how much he was thought of and how much he is missed. A great loss to the forum no doubt. RIP.
Bert Posted 27 January 2009 Posted 27 January 2009 I can't believe it's been two years either. I too, never had the chance to meet the bloke, but i do know he was one of the best. R.I.P
kerryh Posted 27 January 2009 Posted 27 January 2009 Oh bless him - I often think about Janx, still got all the old PM's he sent me, I read them and smile quite often. He was one of the best, and I miss him.
Robsdee Posted 27 January 2009 Posted 27 January 2009 Thought about Janx all day yesterday and emailed Sarah in the morning. Had a lovely reply today, she is very touched we all remember him with such fondness. Another difficult day tomorrow, Rachel's funeral, anyone going from here? 12.45 at Gilrose
Jay Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 Having one for you tonight, mate Top Bloke! as genuine as you can get and a bloody funny bloke!! so Janx I raise a glass to you!!
Finnegan Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 I was fairly new to the forum when this happened, but I remember the post from Mrs Janx well, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.I remember that it touched the hearts and saddened a lot of people on this forum Likewise. One of the most saddening things I've ever read, here or otherwise. It was really tragic to see but wonderfully heartwarming the way Foxes Talk embraced it all, respectfully and kindly. It's touching still that he's kept in everyone's minds and it puts a lot into perspective.
Guest Bilo Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 Sadly Janx passed before I started using the forum but everyone who speaks of him speaks very warmly of a genuinely good bloke with a great sense of humour. Reading through this thread shows how sorely missed he is. Hope his wife and kiddie are getting on well. RIP.

MC Prussian Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 Three years and counting, but never forgotten. R.I.P., you funny old fart. Shall pay a visit to the remembrance plate spot near the Walkers next time I'm over there.
Fosse Boy Posted 27 January 2010 Posted 27 January 2010 As others have said, never knew the bloke myself but he obviously held a special place in a lot of people's hearts on here. RIP.
