Katy Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Check the rest of the country out Valarenga. Norway is well prepared for snow, Britain is not. Ella's school is closed again tomorrow <_<
Joe. Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 My school surely has to be closed tomorrow....announce something you bastards. Ched, there's Tuesday's closures on BBC Leicester website by the way.
Monk Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Yeh Im good, haven't had the chance to come on here for agggggges. Seems things haven't changed.. What has kept you so busy? Nothing changes here apart from the fact we're winning for a change...
Sparky Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Nope. We're still open. I do expect many children to throw snowballs at me though. You still at the Woodgate adventure place Bert ? I abandoned work due to the van sliding all over the place , lost it big time on a hill . My street is shocking , people sliding all over the place in cars
lavrentis Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 How were you informed? I was informed by LincsFM.
Lillehamring Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Check the rest of the country out Valarenga. Norway is well prepared for snow, Britain is not. i haven't seen anywhere get more than 15cm, lack of preparedness has nothing to do with everything closing down... as i said, first day of snow usually catches us a bit, you know, trains are delayed, buses slow, but nothing shuts - it was -8 the other evening and people were playing football outdoors, we had a foot of snow last week and people were still using bikes - it's not like it snows everyday here, we've had maybe 10 days of snow tops, only a couple of 'heavy' days... anyway, enjoy it while it lasts

Tilley Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 http://www.bbc.co.uk/leicester/content/art...9_feature.shtmlYES! Mine's off tomorrow!! :w00t: Little Cherubs Pre School Oh yeah, good for you.
MC Prussian Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 England's getting snow and we're left with none... What's going on here??? I wish I could've called it a day off, but then again I have nobody else to blame but myself for showing up at work with little to no prior sleep. What a chore it was keeping myself going all day long - absolutely lacklustre. I blame the Superbowl.
Uncle Albert Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 The Bastards havent closed mine yet, you watch mine will be one of the only schools open.
Joe. Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 The Bastards havent closed mine yet, you watch mine will be one of the only schools open. Same, got a bad feeling mine will be open tomorrow. They won't announce it until the morning anyway... <_<
Libertine Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Same, got a bad feeling mine will be open tomorrow. They won't announce it until the morning anyway... <_< Same 'ere.
Joe. Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 They could at least have the decency to announce something tonight instead of making us get up tomorrow.
act smiley Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Leave at the normal time, hang around on an open train station platform for 50 minutes instead of 5 getting covered in snow and listening to Sigur Ros and generally being far more cheery than I had any right to be (including when a goods train blasts past and makes a mini snowstorm), get work eventually at half ten. Fix one problem around lunch, then pizza is delivered for everyone, and leave an hour early, with the train only being 15 mins late meaning I get back just gone 5. Brilliant day. (As for the chap that said Surrey was in meltdown, Woking was hilarious - absolutely everywhere else was fine, yet there it was a foot deep and the roads blatantly hadn't been gritted, resulting in loads of cars spinning just outside the office.)
Libertine Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 They could at least have the decency to announce something tonight instead of making us get up tomorrow. I'll probleh be up anyway knowing me. Annoying though, as I start at 12.45 on Tuesday.

I made it through work on Friday after going out on Thursday and not sleeping at all! 41 hours awake by the time I hit the hay at 1am on Saturday morning. You've no excuse!
Uncle Albert Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Same, got a bad feeling mine will be open tomorrow. They won't announce it until the morning anyway... <_< Think I may not go in anyways and have a sociable day off. Head back up Tommy Hunts hill if the snow is still falling. Got to of been one of the most enjoyable days ever.
dandannieldanok Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 BBC hasn't updated for an hour now, looks like no lie-in then.
ASH17LCFC Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 I wish i was still at school or be a Blur fan so my Uni would have been shut. I was at work for 7 am.
act smiley Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 and yet a bloke on a moped with a pizza can continue to do his job There were too many to fit in a moped topbox - I think they either drove (and probably added to the ridiculous number of spins outside the office knowing delivery drivers) or walked, I work 2 minutes away from the pizza place (and 1 minute away from a pub, just to rub it in!)
