Alexikokopops Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 There's five people from my department in the office today. It's quite fun really
Tommy G Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Got to work fine. It just took me an hour and a half to do 9 miles..

Libertine Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 I've been sent home (thankfully) Woooo. Join the party Corks. Grab some Marshmallow and join us 'round the fire.
Master Fox Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 I'm hoping to be sent home It's danger out there...
Sods Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Don't know if my college is on or off to be honest.
Tommy G Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 I'll be pissed if it snows anymore, and I can't get home. I dont fancy sleeping in the office.
Corky Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Don't know if my college is on or off to be honest. If you're one of very few who's bothered to turn up, go home. At least you went in
Lillehamring Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 @ 15cms.... what a shambles, of course it's got nothing to do with the snow, just lazy bleedin teachers - i mean it's not even below zero! yes, we do struggle a bit for the first day of bad weather here, but nothing gets closed... and as for the 'danger to kids when it is icy', what nonsense, over here they turn the playgrounds into proper rinks and play hockey, i mean little 6 year olds. no wonder no one wants to employ british workers, too bloody lazy well enjoy your week of snow guys, and spare a thought for us who will still be getting snow at easter

Bert Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Nope. We're still open. I do expect many children to throw snowballs at me though.
Tommy G Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 How goeth thee Tommy G? Yeh Im good, haven't had the chance to come on here for agggggges. Seems things haven't changed..
Lillehamring Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 You've probably pissed a few people off with thiose comments!! what? teachers? ha, they know what i'm talking about... but seriously, it is all a bit of a fuss isn't it, i looked at the pictures on the mercury website and it didn't seem anywhere near as bad as when i was a kid... i'm not trying to be smug, i genuinely like snow and have never missed a days work in norway or england because of it, if people don't feel safe driving, they can buy tire chains... anyway, to compare, here is an afternoon of snow, and i caught a train the same evening...
Corky Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 A lot of school closures are due to 'elf and safety, because the poor little mites might not be able to be sensible with snow and injure themselves (although I'm pleased at being sent home, it is pretty ridiculous. There is hardly any snow on the ground at all).
Tilley Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Surely tomorrow is going to be the same = no work.
Libertine Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Surely tomorrow is going to be the same = no work. Bleedin' hope so. Not a fan o' Tuesdays.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 NO! The post in Wigston got through today! Can't believe the number of houses I delivered to with unbroken snow up their paths/driveways though. Obviously many people couldn't be bothered to venture out. Wimps. Fortunately a day off tomorrow!
Asha Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Get in. Sixth form tomorrow OFF! Same here ...i've just been informed.
